visuals are like videos

My friend got a new 500$ kenwood, and while we were driving I could not take my eyes off the unit because the visuals had these freaking dolphins floating through the sky, and then aiplanes flying, and tons of crazy visuals.

There were so many visuals, that I could have sat there for 3 minutes and watched them wihtout having one repeat. So this makes me wonder,
if this is illegal? probly not, but then there is no major difference in having the WMP visuals such as battery on random.

just kind of wondering, anyone feel the same?
is there a time limit on how long a visuals lasts wihtout repeat?
or a limit on screen size?
this screen was almost s big as 1 din.

dont feel like ing

I believe there is a huge difference between these and the WMP viz

our screens are alot bigger and distract a bigger view that the HU would.

Also our visuals can be damn annoying when driving.

I really don't see why anyone should have visual on when your driving it's just stupid to me its as bad as having a movie playing.

But to each his own

I suspect the law will also see WMP visualisations on a carp PC 7" screen as a danger and rule them illegal. Were as the visualisations on a little stereo screen would be ok.

It is just the way it is. You made your own car PC and it is capable of playing movies and it has not been built by a reputable company who are subject to legislation about video in cars so the law will not like it. There are probably guidlines to companies such as Pioneer and Sony as to what size of screen they can have. Some sony HU can play MPEGs from memory stick but the screen is probably not deamed big enough to be a serious issue.

If memory serves, most laws state to the effect that anything capable of displaying things other than radio, diagnostic, or GPS information must have a parking break lockout installed. If the courts start investigating our computers, they would immediately find that they are full-out computers, and are capable of displaying anything imagineable...

So, it doesn't really matter what you have displayed at any given time - without that lockout, the Windows, UNIX, or MacOS interface alone is illegal.

People with fantastic new headuits have an (albeit lame) execuse - ignorance. It would be a little more difficult for us to pursuade a judge of that.
