Phtotshop/Paint Shop Pro help??
Hey everyone, Im stuck and need some expert advice. Im trying to change this image:
To match the color tones of these two images:

It's not a straight black&white/grey scale cross over because these bottom two seem to have a purple/blue tinge to them. Can anyone help me on how to adjust the above image? I would GREATLY appreciate it.
-Brian

Try Creating a duplicate layer, use "adjust hue/saturation" to the proper tone you want, then take that duplicate layer and bring down its opacity. then take the original layer and convert it to grayscale.
also, mess with the brightness/contrast, that might help matching it up.

variation: use adjust hue/saturation as was mentioned above, then create one or two fill layers, one blue the other yellow, play with layer opacity till you get the desired effect.
There is wealth of info regarding the subject here it is the best place I know of.

change the color image to grayscale.
change the desaturated image to indexed color using 256 colors, using a Local palette type
copy the greyscale image and patse it into the indexed image.

for a higher quality version, you can:
Convert to 16 bpp
convert to grayscale
convert to rgb
convert to 8 bpp
then use the color balance adjustment to add a little bit to the red, and a little bit more to the blue. Eyeball it, or overthink it like I did and :
convert the image (say 14) to a 2 color image and the lighter color will be 169,161,170
divide 255 by the largest number (170) to get 1.5.
now multiply each component by 1.5 to get 254,242,255
subtract the smallest number (242) to get your offsets 12, 0, 13
apply this using the color balance adjustment.

you dont even need to do all of that. Either convert it to grayscale...or go into Image, Adjustments and Channel Mixer and select Monochrome. Done!

I am pretty sure from his question that he is asking for an image that is NOT grayscale.

In addition to Hue/Saturation, I would suggest adding a little bit of Liquify!

lol, thanks for the help. I will try some layering and opacity tricks and see if I can get that to work!

As usual, ask 10 PS users a question, you get 20 answers. Actually, this is the beauty of PS, there is more than one way to achieve what you want.
