I just graduated last august, and I have consolidated (which you can only do once, ever) at the lowest rates there will ever be. My interest rate is something like 3.75% right now, and it drops 1% after 30 months and another 1% 30 months after that to give me a final interest rate of 1.75%. But I don't plan on keeping them that long

I must say ... knocking down $4k in 4 months is damn impressive ... and then there's the fact that you took a 'break' for a few weeks.

Wizard, wanted to pass on some good news that might help you out. I filed for an extension with Uncle Sam and just had my accountant finish my taxes. I've got an $11,000 refund coming back - roughly a third of what I paid in taxes -, courtesy of my real estate investments. That's chump change to a lot of people and I'm not trying to brag. I'm just letting you know that there are viable solutions out there to finding other people to pay off your debt. Just cuz you ran up the debt, doesn't mean that they're aren't millions of folks willing to you pay it off for you. And no, my accountant didn't do anything illegal!

Due to ALL 3 OF MY CARS needing repairs in the very near future, like this week, I only made a minimum payment for june (note that the last debt adjustment was only 2 weeks ago). When I see what the damage is and/or sell some vehicles I'll get back on it hard core
Total debt as of today: $30,368.13

If he had 3 import cars then he would need to make repais as well as all the extra maintenance.
Why not just have one vehicle?

there's a story behind why I have 3 cars....
I've had my saturn coupe since 97, and it's great and all, but theres no room to carry anything more than groceries. I recently moved, and to rent a uhaul truck and trailer to carry all my stuff and my coupe, it wouldve cost me ~$1200 plus fuel, so I bought a 1987 ford bronco for $1500 and used that to carry all my stuff and rented a trailer for about $120
The bronco made it here, and then it sorta died. So I went back to starkville and got my coupe and brough it up here. The plan was to sell both the bronco and the coupe and get a saturn station wagon since that would give me the gas mileage of the coupe and the room of the bronco.
Well, being that I have poor impulse control, my dumb *** went and bought a saturn wagon for $950 because I thought I knew what was wrong with it and could fix it for $8. Long story short, the wagon needs $2000 worth of work just to get it to pass emissions here.
In the meantime, the bronco and the coupe have been in the paper and in a trader magazine, and I've had no calls (most likely because I have a Mississippi phone number, and I'm pretty far away from MS at this point so people dont call because they dont recognize the area code). I've already spent about $95 trying to sell my various vehicles.
Yesterday I took what parts I needed to fix up my coupe (AC compressor, O2 sensors, etc) off the wagon swapped them over. Long and short of that part is that new parts didnt fix the stuff wrong with the coupe.
Anyway, this is my stupid tax. I'm going to lose a significant amount of money (relative to my current situation) on these idiot things I did to try to save me some money.
