80gb hard drive only showing it's 32gb?!?

I've deleted all the partitions of my 80GB hard drive and put NTFS on it. But it still reads only 32GB. Is there any way to recover the rest of the drive?

Have you ever been able to see the full 80GB? What O/S are you running?

Some drives have a capacity restriction jumper where the master/slave jumper is. That jumper makes the drive show 32GB in order to be compatible with older systems. Maybe it is shorted ?

The jumper was set to master so I switched it to cord select and it now recognizes it! Thanks Seth!

I don't understand why it wouldn't work on master. It must've at some point in time. I can't remember the last time I used it.
