I'm on automatically subscribe to any thread I contribute to.
Sometimes I get an email notification and wonder, what the hell was I doing posting in that thread?

I have one email account just for forums, which I access through a web browser and is open in the background. I occasionally refresh it to see what's new.

Enforcer, been meaning to ask, and seeing as though i am unlikely to make the meet on sunday as i car has turned into a ticking bomb i will ask you now...
how is that 1ghz P3 going? I am thinking about using an old P3 800 i have lying around on a gugabyte mATX for now. Have you thought about trying an m1-ATX to power it? I am tempted to see if it has enough juice for my P3.

Trouble with the Compaq is, it's a very proprietry PSU so I can only use the PSU that comes with it through an inverter, and not a DC-DC one.
Hence the reason I am in the process of putting a new system together, with an OPUS and a microATX board. But I'm having trouble with my OPUS at mo. Might take it with me and see if someone can check it out at the meet.

I have use a compaq P3 PSU (off an mATX with P3 800) with a normal mATX mobo before now - guess i was just lucky!
I realised i had this system lying around as my mum blew her mobo on her compaq and i got a cheap all-in-on gigabyte board off ebay for £10 to get her running. Then i fitted her up with a cheap athlon XP system so she can edit video off her camera better and i am left with a mobo with P3 800 and a spare P3 800 (yup i have thought about building a dual CPU system but in the car i am not usre it's worth it!). The only problem is the board has crappy intel graphics and no AGP slot. Oh well! At £49 for an M1 it would make a damn cheap car PC when compared to me forking out £150 on a mobile athlon system and then on an Opus to power it.
Jsut not sure in 800mhz of intel P3 will keep me happy - but i guess stripping the heck out of XP will be a must.

Processor power wise the PC is fine. DVD's DIVX GPS MP3's all run fine with no speed issues. Hopefully tomorrow will be wiring in the second screen in the headrest so the movies can play there.
