mp3car Member of The Month Idea

OK...I was thinking that it would be a cool idea too show some appreciation to the most active/helpful members of the forum.

So heres how it would work:

1)People on the forum would vote for who they think should be mp3car member of the month.

2)Once the person is elected maybe he can get some special privilages on the forums. (like what?, I have no clue)

3)Now, the best part. To show our appreciation, as many people as possible donate a dollar to the member. With over 16,000 members, the amount should get pretty high. Oh and of course you can donate more if you want.

I think this would be good idea because most people on the forums could definatly use this money to work on their carputers, I know I could. And really, $1 is a very small amount to show some respect. Even if you donate for an entire year = $12 = pocket change.

So do you guys think this is a good idea? If not, why?
Would you change how it worked?

this is definitely a good idea. Who's gonna nominate me? j/k. Im in it. $1 isn't that bad. So i'm in this thing. and would gladly donate a dollar (plus paypal fees) to the member of the month...

LagunaICE: With that attitude it definatly wouldn't work. You prob just don't want to donate $1. Just to let you know, you don't have to if you don't want to.

Also, LagunaICE, if you didn't notice I am still a newbie here, who would vote for me?

I think what would really help if admins took charge and made this thing happen. But hey, its just an idea, so the admins can do what ever they please.

frodo: you are a great example of someone who needs some appreciation($$$). For all of your hard work, I think I can spare a dollar for you.

Does anyone know what the paypal fees are and who they would charge?(the giver or receiver?)

Frodo would never be so devious as to decieve the members of mp3car.com. Right??

Its not really like a lottery because the more you help on the forms the better chance you have of being elected. Then once you are elected, the money can be used to help the member improve their car and help more people from what they learned. So what goes around comes around.
