New Car driving 45mph+egg=messed up paint, and ****ed off me
Some f%&#ers threw an egg at my car while I was driving downa small road last night. It didn't look like any damage at first, when I called the cops to report the little S**ts, so I said I didn't need a sheriff too come out. But when I got to the gas station too clean all the egg off, This is what I discovered
Yes ladies and gentlemen, that is my paint all messed up. Chipped to hell in this neat little circular pattern. SO I called the cops back, and asked for someone to come out to do a report for my insurance. After waiting like half an hour, a dude comes by and tells me too go home, and call this number tomorrow (he handed me a bus. card) and they'll do it over the phone, Cuz they're too busy too do it right now. (in all fairness he said that they were busy cuz of a shooting, so it's understandable.) But still. Real frustrating. I was ****ED, and I'm still somewhat ****ed. This car has 1,300 miles on it, and is less than 2 weeks old. And the F**ks egged it.
So now I gotta call this stupid number, and go through the whole claim thing to try to get the paint fixed. It hit hard enough to chip the primer too. So I've never had something like this happen before, what am I looking to expect to have to have done to fix it?

hmm...I wonder if I had mysteriously damaged the doors and the insurance company decided to repaint it...and I slip the body guys a few bucks to let me shave the door handles. makes sense, right? lol
BTW that suck, my dad got a 2005 honda pilot with nav, sun roof, leather, EVERYTHING...and within the first 3 weeks of having it, he got 2 golfball sized dents from "no where" and he doesnt have the time to drop it off at a repair shop. Maybe they were hard-boiled eggs!?

Hah, I at least was able to give the kids a scare. After I realized it was egg, I turned around, went slowly down the area where it happened, with my brights on, blaring some fun kind of death metal. Found where the egg shells were all over the road, and turned into the driveway. They proceded to scramble, and I chased two of them down with the car. Wouldn't have come close enough to hit them, but watching two teenage males scrambling up a dirt driveway trying to run from the car was kinda funny.

I did that to my moms car - but I guess paint back then was better
because I use like a dozen eggs and no damage - and it was left on
there over night - she was evil and beat me - like a red headed step
child - I also used a potato in the tail pipe and soap on the windshield
and sugar in the gas tank - that morning she saw the stuff on the car
went and filled a bucket with water and ICE - 5 gallons - and threw it on me
when I was asleep - not fun - but she just went out and hosed the car
off for 5 min and drove off - no ill affects - I should have cut the brake
lines - but I was like 7 years old at the time

i woulda hung you upside down in your room by your testicles.
techy, the sick part is had you actually got ahold of those kids and physically restrained them until the cops showed, their parents would have probably sued you and won.
i love this country.

Ya, I wasn't about to go chasing them down, thats a whole different ball of legal $hit that I dont wanna get involved in.
Also, I think that they must have been using a sling shot or something, cuz it was much louder than my music, which was very loud at the time (first day with the new system installed ) and the damage isn't from baby chicken goo, but from the impact. It looks much like when you get shot with a paintball.

My mom's car had a few small dents from some neighborhood kids throwing **** at her car (not eggs, but rocks she thinks). The insurance wouldnt cover it for her. About two weeks later a hail storm ruined the paint and dented every car outside within a 5 mile radius or so of her house, including hers. Insurance DID cover the repairs for that (and the old dents as well, naturally) to the tune of $2500. She was really glad she hadn't paid out of pocket to fix the previous tiny dents.
Moral of the story: I don't know. But it sucks when kids throw **** at your car.
So far the only problem I have had is a$$holes scraping me in the parking lot. It has happened three times in the last two months and IM ****ED. Im thinking of keeping a couple of orange cones in the trunk and putting them besides my car when parked.
Sorry about your luck. I hope you get that covered or get some justice.

what is it about new cars that attracts this crap? I'm so careful with my car and try to take care of it ... but there are no less than 9 dings, scraps, and the like on my car, only 2 of which are my fault. (and the first 2 of those happened a few weeks after I had it as well)
it's like they target me. (us)

I hear ya. I havent had my car for six months and it has so many scrapes and ****. I seriously am thinking of using some orange cones when I park. I am tired of non-driving mofo's who take to the road anyway.
