HTPC Question

Hey everyone, I'm in the midst of gathering parts for another project and had a question regarding capture cards (for capturing video and audio from a STB to PC)

The Hauppauge PVR-150MCE has s-video in, allowing me to connect the video feed from my cable box to the PC, however it also comes with composite audio inputs. Do I HAVE to use these connectors to connect the audio from my STB, or can I also use an available audio IN from my sound card?? Will connecting the audio through sound card and video through the capture card lead to audio/video sync issues?

If anyone has been through this before, id really appreciate any knowledge, as i've spent a good amount of time searching the appropriate forums...

Just get the regular Hauppaugge PCR-150 dont get the MCE version.

And yeah you have to use the audio if you want to have sound with your video from your cable box.

Why the regular? It's more expensive and I already have a remote...?
