digital camera

I was wondering if anyone has the Canon powershot A510?

What is the minimum of MP to have when considering a beginner digital camera?

What camera do you have?

Which one do you recommend for getting started?

I have a Nikon Coolpix 3100. It was my first digi cam and I love it. Very easy to use and takes great pictures. I recomended it to my mom and she got the 3200 model. A little more complex but she can use it well too.

I just picked up a Canon PowerShot S2 IS and love it! Details at http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/S2IS/S2ISA.HTM (BTW, Imaging Resource is a great site for digital camera reviews)

I have a Konica-Minolta Dimage Z20. It is a great little 5MP camera with 8X optical zoom.

Basically, if you just want some pictures of friends and things anything with 3-5MP will do you just fine. If you need a camera for work, decide whether you need something smll and light (Sony...) or something really powerfull (6-8MP).

All I can say is try to get a camera with the most optical zoom in your price range.

I picked up my camera at costco for $289.

It came with:

Camera
4 Batteries
SD Card (128MB)
USB SD card reader
Software
Case for the camera
and some other ****.

I think I got a pretty decent deal. Plus if something ever goes wrong with it, I keep my receipt and 2-3 years later return the camera and get my full money back.

That's the magic of costco's Complete Satisfaction Guarantee.

Peace,

Rafster
