Why would you overclock something meant to be stable and quiet ?
But, sorry for your loss anyway, go burn something, plastic that drips
is really soothing, especially if you can find ants

Is it the dripping plastic or the fumes that help soothe you?

Well, the system was my regular desktop before I got a laptop so I converted it into my HTPC. And if you've built one, you know that certain apps like ZoomPlayer can be quite CPU intensive. I had all the settings balanced just right but needed just an oh-so-small more bit of processing power to remove a little studder in my DVD playing. So I tried pushing the board from 1.4 GHz to 1.6Ghz, something its done plenty of times before, and well, I guess it wasn't as stable as I thought.
New rant: Where the F! has AGP gone?!? Ok, I've been out of the hardware market for a little while, but damn, none of the new motherboards I'm looking at have a "legacy" AGP slot.

 Frodo and his burning stuff
please get a video of you burning the mobo with a blow torch.
I would go get a nice 2ghz+ system and underclock it and try and go with a very low noise fan. The sound of PC fans and HDD does my head in these days.

Sorry it took a while, had to install something to compress it but, as requested:
Video: Video Clip - ~7 MB In DivX6 format.

I didn't do exactly as you wanted, just using the blow touch as I surmised... caps blow under heat (as how the board broke in the first place). Me + blowtorch + capacitors = 1 week off work in the hospital! So I used white gas and lit it with the blow tourch, does that count? My thoughts were proven correct as you can hear the caps blowing at 42 and 53 seconds into the clip.

Awesome. this guy needs a custom title. You need to make a nice avatar pic from your exploits with the blowtorch dude.

Sweet! Title worthy! Heh. Yea, the board caught fire much easier than I expected. With all the black smoke not shown in the clip, I got a lil worried about the neighbors and put it out. May go back at night to 'finish the job'.
This isn't the only computer I've destroyed... Plugging screw drivers & nails into ISA slots and other holes in powered on systems can be just as much fun! The game is to always see the biggest spark you could make (~3" is the record!) or oddest system error message and still have it boot ok after reset.
