"If you show me a United States with no holiday where you can be creatively weird, I will show you a United States with no hope."
I am referring to the fact that public schools are becoming microcosms for the world at large instead of the community they serve. People just seem to see it as a way to further their agendas of "No Christianity in schools? No religion in school?! Then NO NOTHING!" so THERE HAHAHAHAHAHA!
I just hate people who go too far and think its for the "greater good", since when is anything Halloween related looked down upon inside a school? Sure if a kid comes in dressed to the 9s as a Nazi (cough cough, Prince harry cough) then you can ask them, or demand it be removed. And yea u can go further and say well Nazis offend some people, but you are discriminating against certain costumes, so maybe we should ban all costumes...
But what happened to COMMON SENSE? A witch, a ghost, a Cowboy, superman, a demon etc etc whats wrong with those? Nothing.
Some people just like to find problems in everything, Donnie Darko comes to mind...like a teacher with a student is somehow superior to a parent who works at an office....
so when does this all end? Like the South Park episode of non-offensive Xmass stuff ending up being a New Age Philip Glass Opera?
Valentines day is the one we should be afraid of, i mean its basically letting children express their sexual thoughts that are to be supressed until marriage.
For those not in the know, Invader Zim (the progressive, cancelled Nicktoon) jumped the gun in showing the future:
Valentines Day is no longer candy and hearts, but the giving on meat products.
"Ms. Bitters, how did the whole meat thiing get started?"
"You dont wanna know"
