I've always used spybot, ad-aware, and MS Anti-Spy. they always work good for me. thing is it seems like not one anti-spyware program is enough, you need afew to get all the spyware

firefox+ms antyspyware+ella for spam
best combo yet... and I get over 700 emails/day... about 100 are legit, 600 are spam... We have barracuda in the office, but it sucks ***, only cleans about 50% of the spam... ella is at about 95% for me, and maybe 1% "legit-email-marked as spam"
(I know u didnt ask about spam, but the 2 things are pretty much tied to each other...does anyone know a good challenge-response email solution?)

Never Turn your computer on. Disconnect it from your power source
You will never get spyware 100% guaranteed.
PS FireFox + Adadware

We have a Barracuda at work as well and it works great. Do you administer the box yourself or does someone else do it for you? Make sure you keep the firmware up to date. We weren't upgrading ours when they notified us when we first got the box. It makes big difference.

I take a multi-tack approach against spyware and virii:
1. I do the obvious and install *both* Ad-Aware *and* Spybot S&D
2. I always use firefox (the only reason I don't un-install IE is that it is required for system updates) *with* the following ad-buster trick: http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/adblock
3. I *never* browse the internet as an Administrative user. I always create a limited user for all work that doesn't specifically require admin privs (such as installing software)
