Resetting Honda Accord SRS light

Okay I did my homework by googling a while and found no specific answer to how to do it or having a ball to do it as I don't want the airbag exploded. The instruction said to short the Yellow MES connector for couple time. But I have learn for a long time that do not mess with any YELLOW wire under the steering column. To my supprise, there are a lot of SRS light problem with Honda than other made. Duh ....

Anyway, my wife 2000 Accord SRS light came on the other day for no freaking reason. She may have placed her cell phone on the passensger seat while driving.

So any one know or have a solid/reliable way to reset the darn light?

My friend brought his Del Sol to the dealer and they charge 800 bucks to reset/replace the SRS system. I don't want to folk out that much cash to fix it when other said the light can be turn off by resetting procedure, but again the safety is my main concert here.

If you get under the dash.....near the reverse side of the fuse box...behind the steering wheel there are a bunch of connectors going into a box. I've done this a few times, no problems. You can tell which the MES is...because its plugged into a dummy socket....there are no male pins in the socket. Heres the instructions http://www.superhonda.com/forum/show...59&postcount=5

Also a side note......one of the symptoms of the light going on is low voltage......causing the SRS system to be alerted because it may not perform properly.

I had to have mine reset twice, once while installing a cd changer, and once after installing the carputer. In my case it was because I left the passenger seat out and had to reconnect the battery to drive it a couple of days before finishing. I just took it to the closest dealer - not even the one I bought it from. They reset it for free, didn't even take 5 minutes.

yeah. that happens a lot with 6th gen accords. for no reason many times. it just seems to happen around 100k miles or so, a lot of people on forums that deal with 6th gen accords have taken their cars to various honda dealerships (not just "joes garage") and there was no cause for the light to come on. it just does, we are just damned like that.
I have a 98 v6 coupe...and mine is on. i just havent gotten around to resetting it yet.
