Post Just a person I know...

There is this guy at my school, and he thinks he is the best.
He reckons that he knows everything about computers, but, he claims his computer is:

200Mhz, P4, 486 with 3 burners and a 256k modem... hmmm

Also, he says that the power led in the computer is powered by a AA battery..

Funny hey??

Okay, that kid deserves a good slappin'.

P4 200MGHZ? Please tell that's a typo and it was suppose to be 2000MGHZ.

But still, 3 burners? 256k modem? What is he smoking? AA battery? Dear god....

He's doesn't have a clue what he is talking about..
He also said it would cost me 10-15 thousand dollars to fix my celery 400,(ha hadn't even looked at it), all that was wrong with it was the CPU wasn't in properly

AND...
when I mentioned my ThunderBird 1000, he said he had never heard os it..

Not too mention a 256K modem - no such thing, can't go over 56K on a POTS line. And who would put 3 burners on a single machine?????

Cool

Yes, I hate people who don't know what they're talking about. I had a similar experience with someone in my high school. Claimed to be a master C programmer and all that. One day he was bragging about creating creating a virus that physically destroyed the HD. Obviously, there is no damage that a virus could do to a HD that couldn't be cured with a low level format (except for wearing out the physical mechanism, but that would take a long time). So I argued with him a little, and finally just gave up.

This kid was very good at appearing to know what he was doing, so he ended up going to University and getting a computer co-op. Funny thing is, last I heard he was on his 5th job. Keeps getting fired. I guess in the real world, "fake" knowledge doesn't work.

I'll keep you posted on other crazy things he says, (mostly not computer related), and tell me what you think..

I have more to say now..

Today I asked him how his computer was going, (he had been having some problems), and he said a rat got in it and messed it up, I then asked how much it was going to cost to fix, and he said, not much, $48,000...

He also says he has 2 external burners that connect to the serial port!!! And that he can burn a whole data CD in 8minutes, and an audio CD in 3!!!!!!

This guy is good for a laugh, but he says he is in the computer fixing business and that he fixes other peoples computers as a job.

He also says that he doesn't just assemble computers systems, but that he puts the actual computer components together, like soldering the components onto the HDs and mobos..

One day I will tell him he is a complete loser and doesn't know what he is talking about, but not just yet..

Yeah, I am the Co-director of the highschool Computer TEch dept, and my partner, who we shall call...ROBB!!... used to be like that.

He said he was the only one allowed to touch the hubs cause he was a+ cert. I laughed and asked him since when does A+ cover networking, and he just looked at me.
He said he alone could touch the NT machines, cause he's MCSE, but then about a month ago he told me his MCSE and A+ were cancelled.
So I finally cornered him, told him that that don't cancel either of those, and that I knew he was lying.
He's been alot nice as of since.
Oh, and the first day I met him, he told me he had a 486 IBM ps/2 at him (real computer), yet he was running winME on it, Office 2000 and several other things, yet it only had 200megs of HD. When I confronted him about the other things I found that he had a p120, he just thought it was as slow as a 486.

Sounds exactly like the kid I was talking about, except that mine insisted that he made the actual silicon chips in his basement.

You should invite the kid over to this forum....would make an amusing distraction in Off-Topic...
