Hi all,
I am in my first stage of installation and I am redesigning the interior of my car to custom fit all my components to make the interior look like it was done by a professional. Does anyone know where I could find some documentation on making panels or speaker pods for the doors. I have experimented somewhat and am very pleased with my work so far but I am using existing panels in the car and modifying them with fiberglass and bondo. I want to be able to create a mold and create the panels from scratch. I have an example pic below of what I have done. I want to know how the pros do it.
The first image is the front view. There is a cutout for the 5.6" TFT screen. Under the screen are the cutouts for the pioneer slot load DVD rom. The second panel is for the air conditioning controls. I had to move the air conditioning controls from the top panel to make room for the DVD rom. The second air control panel is a disaster cause the actual panel is made of a different plastic(possibly a combination of rubber/hard vinal). This different plastic didn't bond with the fiberglass enamel or the bondo. So now I want to make a mold of this piece and create it from scratch out of fiberglass or something.
this second image is a view of the back side of the pieces.
Does anyone know someplace on the web or a book site where I could school myself on this type of construction?
