Post electrical question

I am working on an engineering project for school and I am limited to using a specific size battery. Right now we have a AA energizer lithium battery. My question is wether or not it is posible to step up the voltage coming from a battery. And if so, how complicated is it. Thanks for your help.

I don't know how you can step up the continued voltage on a battery (ie. AA 1.5v - 3v constant), but you can store the voltage for a quick shot at a higher voltage. Buy one of those cheap throw-away cameras with a flash, take it apart, and see how the flash works.

Aaron Cake on this board knows alot about this, and I'm sure he will post, but till then his web page has alot of stuff on this.
