Is it possible to make a HUB yourself ?
Hi,
I was wondering -since I have some computers which I want to connect to eachother- if it's possible to make a hub yourself ?
At the moment I have only 2 computers connected to eachother with a twisted network cable.
Now I want to expand the network with some computers.
I have enough connectors, cable and all laying around here, so I wonder if one could make this himself,
Or does a hub contain some print with some microprocessor on ?
Hope you can help me out !
Thanks in Advance,
Greetz

If you have a spare computer and a bunch of network cards, and a copy of Linux or NT you can do it...But it's certainly cheaper and easier to spend the $20 on a generic hub...Any local computer store should have 8 port units around that price...
