Moto v180 screen dead trying to grab phonebook

ok so my sisters v180 died and the screen wont light up the backlight comes on but no lcd she probably dropped it 1 too many times

i try to connect with p2k and motophone tools etc but nothing works i tried hyperterminal but i dont know what im doing

above all the phone works if i dial my home number it will call it so the software is loading is it possible the modem died with the lcd?

how can i be sure what test can i run on it

it connects via usb cable the same type as digital cams use

just an idea, but my gf's Motorola has an option that dumps all the contacts to your SIM card (assuming it's a GSM phone and has a SIM card). If you look in your Owner's Manual, you'll likely find the menu structure of the phone, which, if you are good enough (or lucky ), will tell you exactly what buttons to push to get that option. Other than that, i dunno

What version of MPT do you have? Some of the older versions have hissy fits every once in a while, even if the phone is working perfectly....

I have the newest version if you IM me....
