Help! Uninsured Driver crashed into me... know him? UK, SW London/Surrey/Woking
Some ****** crashed into me this morning, and I've discovered he's uninsured and gave me the wrong details. His details are:
Silver VW Passat TDi - OU 03 PXP. I think he's somewhere in Woking. Claims his name's Karim Qourdotoi
If anyone knows anything, please let me know.

Did you write down his plate number? That is the very first thing you do.
If so, give it to the police.
If not, chance to get him is very rare.

You hit someone = you fork over your credit card and make nice nice. Run away asap.
Someone hits you = you get every cop there to record every detail of the incident. Calling the insurance co. while cops are there helps, too. If you have a digicam in the glovebox, try to snap photos while he hits you.

Report him to the police. If your laws are similar to the ones here he is breaking the law by driving uninsured. They'll go to his house, and take away his car, his license, and give him some insane fines. He will also be responsible to your insurance company to make good on whatever it costs to fix your car.
You have his plate #, and thats all they need. :P

they are the same about uninsured drivers.
thing is, he can claim his car was stolen, and that would leave me in ****! I'm fully comprehaneive covered on my insurance policy, but there's no reason why I should claim 'cos of some ****wit!
police will be contacted once the insurance company has made it's relevant searches. I'm waiting on that now. grrr

Screw it then. File the claim. Then it's up to the insurance company to hunt him down. If they don't get him to pay, then they pay. Do you have Uninsured Motorist Insurance? We have that over here, and it is to protect you against that sort of thing. But since you have full coverage, you're good to go, no matter what.

I doubt it. The police would be pretty damn skeptical that his car was stolen, and he never thought to call about it, and that it just happened to reappear in his driveway? :P

yeah i doubt he could get away with a 'stolen car' story if he hadn't reported it until you reported the accident

And you will be able to give the police a description of him. I mean what are the chances of someone stealing his car who looks just like him. I hope you get this resolved a similar thing happened to me 8 yrs ago and I didnt get a result (false plates)
