Help with ******** not downloading....
I'm trying to get a certain file from a well known site that happens to make you download another file to download the big file (I'll let you guys use your imagination on what kind of program I'm using..... )
The problem is that this program requires an open port where I don't have access to the router...
I downloaded PortScan 2000, and so far I've found supposedly 5 open ports. When I use the Nat/Firewall test on this downloader, with the port numbers it fails the test, almost as if these ports are actually not open...
Anyone have any clues? BTW, there is a reason why I'm being so vague... If someone thinks I can give more details without getting in trouble here... I'll go into further details...
Thanks,
Rafster

Can you forward the port? http://portforward.com/english/route...outerindex.htm
PM me with the file/program you need and I may be able to help.

Ok, lets see. Bit Torrents are not illegal. So, should discussing them be taboo? Yes, they can be used for illegal file sharing. But guess what? The main purpose of this site is discussing carPC's which are illegal in some areas. Besides that, we are talking about our cars which can most likely go above the speed limit so should that be censored since our car can be used to break the law?
If we can't have a discussion about legal programs then shut the thread down.

OK, cool, I'll get right on that about forwarding the ports...
I'm trying to get a copy of Mappoints 06NA....
The Torrent App is called Azerus and the site I'm using is Seedler.org
But, now that I'm home, the torrent says... I can only leech from one location at a time.
I turned the other torent download off... WTF???
Peace,
Rafster

I use azereus too. Doesn't seem to slow my PC down much at all.
Check The Pirate Bay too. That is where I do all my DL'ing from.

utorrent is far far far far better than azureus. It looks the exact same, provides some extra features, and hardly uses 1% of my processor, usually 0. I was amazed that it doesn't even need to be installed, you simply run the tiny .exe and everything is self-contained.
I also found I was able to tweak it to get my download speeds quite a bit higher than with Azureus.
Anyways... I don't think you'll be able to do what you're trying to do without access to the router. if you have the router's IP adress, all you need is the admin password and you can get into the router's control panel. The password shouldn't be too hard to figure out, and if it's really tough, get it from the IT guy somehow, run a keylogger on his computer or something.
But all this just so that you can download stuff on your work connection instead of tying up your home connection?
