So I have a chance to buy a mustang...

Ok, a buddy of mine is selling a 1966 mustang with a straight 6, auto tranny. Right now it DOES NOT run, he's about 1/2 way thru rebuilding the engine, but ran out of money I guess...

Anyway, body is in good shape, though it is missing both front fenders and grill. Half of it is primer grey, half is still the original paint. The dash is not mounted, gauges are just sitting inside, seats are a little trashed. No rust. All the glass is there, and no cracks.

Has a salvaged title.

What do you think I should pay for something like this?

How's the frame. That's the decision maker right there.

AFAIK the frame is straight and good. He said he had someone check it out.

I see you're in New Mexico and prices fluctuate depending on where you live, up here in Ontario, Canada, I wouldn't pay more than 2 grand canadian for what you mentioned. LOTS of work to be done, and lots of expensive work too. Not to mention time.
