Your opinions on my band
My band currently just finished our latest CD entitled "Blood & Aphorisms". It's rock music of the likes of incubus and fuel but really sounds nothing like those bands. Hard to describe. I figure I would post here and ask you guys what you think. Head over to:
http://www.astallaslions.com/
and click on the music section to hear some mp3s =)
Feel free to be brutally honest if you want, i enjoy all sorts of constructive criticism. Thanks!

Interesting music
Just Downloaded your sample tracks...
Listened to Break Blossom!
Great intro - rest of track over all great I will listen to it again.(need better quality Mp3!)
Listened to A Fighting Word...
Ok track, I might put it on one of my lower playlists, I personally don't listen to songs of this nature!
Keep up the good work! Every band has to start with something!

Hehe, well im not sure if I should take that as a compliement, we've been together 3 years! =)
The Bitrate on that was 128 - The quality might sound weird because we were going for a real different sound for the guitars, it might take some getting used to.
Thanks for the response, keep em comin!

Both songs sound great. Both files sounded prefectly fine on my computer. I did prefer "Break Blossom" over "A Fighting Word" Has your band received radio air play?

Downloaded both. It's good, but not my style so I stopped both tracks at about 50%.

Not yet, not of the new stuff. We got some airplay on some local stations here and on some internet radio sites. Other than that I think this Russian Station emailed us for A CD and have us in regular rotation.

There were both good but I liked "Break Blossom more then "A Fighting Word." Make sure you submit your demo to XM radio's Unsigned channel http://www.xmradio.com/programming/c...page.jsp?ch=52

You're an ***. It's called talent, not singing like a girl. They are a "tight" band in both the slang/figurative and litteral sense. They have good chemestry together. This is coming for a former singer/guitar player for a band that's been together for a few years, but we broke up.
A fighting world is a good song, even though the begininig is a bit intimate, but aren't most songs on the radio? 80% of songs wrtten are love songs. Break Blossom is cool. The quality is fine. Good work guys!

The intro on «Break Blossom» reminded me of the dungeon theme in Zelda - A link to the past.
I love the song. Keep up the good work.

You definitely have a voice dude, however I think seriously you may be better suited to a role on broadway with that style you are singing
It reminded me of when I went to see "RENT."
I don't think it would hurt if you gave yourself a lil' bit of a rougher edge, and probably help blend with the feel of the background music.

Thanks again for all your feedback guys. Just so you know, I am the drummer, but I will relay all your good stuff to the rest of the band, im sure they will appreciate it just as much as I do.

For the record, I only listened to Break Blossom.
I thought the music itself was bomb. Band does an excellent job, it sounded really professional.
However, I did not like the singer. Whomever it was that said he needs to sound more rough was correct. His voice did not fit the music at all (or rather, did not fit what I was *feeling* while listening to the music). Of course, that's only my opinion.
