Need help finding the right machine....
OK... Here's my dilema...
I have a client that has a small shelf in which he has like 300 records... (the things that came before audio tapes, kind of look like really large CDs... )
He has found a way to get these records on his computer, and he's gone through all the songs and made them into individual tracks on MP3 Format...
It all takes up about 50GB....
Here's the thing... He wants an MP3 type player which he can put in this shelf and that he can manipulate playlists on the actual player without having to bring the thing to his computer every time he wants to create/edit a playlist.
I already brought up the possibility of getting a small Mini-ITX machine and a smallish TS.... he said no....
I can't think of anything else to offer him, does anyone know of anything within a $400-$600 range that could do this that's not a computer?
Peace,
Rafster

how about a 60Gb ipod *shudder* or a PVP from creative or Archos? If Rio would gt their act together, they could come out with a hot as hell player with great sound quality like the Riot, but MUCH smaller

See... that's the problem... an iPod would work, except he wants to be able to modify the playlists, etc.. without having to connect to a computer....
Peace,

iPods can't make playlists on the fly? That's screwed up, they suck balls. My Rio Riot had that capability. Tell him to check out a Creative Zen
And turbocad, i didn't know they made MP3 capable record players

Well iPods can create playlists on the fly, but you can't edit them on the fly...
