His insurance will cover him, but more than likely raise his rates (or even drop him), if he is convinced of a hit and run. Assuming he had insurance to begin with.
On the other hand, your insurance should cover you if you have uninsured/under-insured insurance, without an increase in your rates.

yea negative on that 2nd part.
haha
yea i hope the cops will get back to me tomorrow or within the week. and hope he has insurance too, small claims court would be a pain in the *** if he even had anything at all.
I think the insurance company might be a pain as well since like the kbb on my car was like 600 bucks but you cant find one cheaper then 2000. so i hope they dont try to screw me too much as well.

Wish you luck dude. But think about it, why did he hit and run in the first place?
It was probably an illegal uninsured drunk and stoned Mexican criminal in a stolen car running from facilitators and cops trying to hide his weapons/drugs somewhere . (Not trying to be racist or anything)

Was he drunk?
If he was, his insurance will probably drop him like no one's business...

Cool.... so, do you know who this guy is?
Was it a Front BC plate? You know those are the one's that cause most of the problems on the road in So. Cal.... especially San Diego...

another question.
ok so my insurance says that i have to make a claim with his if we find him and he has insurance.
so then will the cop tell me stuff like insurance company, policy number, driver name if they have a suspect and then i call this insurance and make a claim against him? or do i have to wait till like hes convicted first?
man i wish i just had my car back......
haha
what a pain in the ***....

it also depends on your state laws for coverage. some states are "no-fault" states...so even if the accident is clearly someone else's fault, your insurance does the dealo with you, not their insurance.
If a fault-state, the insurance claim will goes against your insurance if the hit-and-run is not found and could raise your rates.
check your state laws on the accident dealo:

See, what I said. There was a reason for the whole running part of the incident Hate to say it, but it is probably getting more complicated.

Why don't you have uninsured/under-insured insurance? It is really cheap and would save you this pain and hassle.

Not here in Cali... especially in San Diego and Los Angeles....
There are a lot of Mexicans (uninsured motorists) here, and insurance companies know that they can make a bundle on that....

I see, did not even look at your guys location. I guess you can not get it for $22 for six months like me.
