Cool Technology
So I was looking at a 4GB jump drive and it got me thinking about how impressed I would have been by modern technology 10 years ago which got me wondering:
What modern piece of commercially available technology would you have been most impressed by in the early/mid-90s?
Aside from the obvious growth in processor speed/capabilities, I'm thinking 500GB hard drives or 4GB thumb drives would have blown my mind back in the day.

yeah, what about these tiny little gameboy micro's... for like $129... or a handheld 7" screen dvd player for around the same $$....
I think about this all the time.... the stuff that's available today for peanuts woulda been so friggin amazing like 10 years ago...
give it another 10 years.... a picturephone built into a watch will be the norm... just wait till they figure out a way to interface organics with electronics.... that'll be interesting

for me it has to be mobile/cell phones.
Its funny to read this post, as only this morning i was thinking back to what they were like 10 years ago in 97! very basic, two lines of text, green back light, no images, videos, cameras, real music, colour display, games (i dont even think snake was about for the nokia).
And you know what, they were still amazing then. imagine taking one of todays phone back to 97. wow.

HAHA, one of those Motorola 3Watt phones? We used to have one of those... I used to bother my dad saying, "Dad, don't forget your purse..."

I still have one of those motorola "flip" phone from 10 years ago serviced by LA Cellular (if anyone still remember). It is the size of about 7 or 8 razr phones melt together and it was one of the smallest phone at the time The battery has to be charge every night whether I use it or not.

does the battery have 3 conections on the back but the center one is recessed on the phone so it doesn't connect? if it does the fold up a small piece of foil and jam it in the hole so it makes a connection. this will put the phone into maintenance mode, i cant remember what the code is for it but there is a cell scanner in there some where, fun for evesdropping if there is any one around you still running on the analogue network.

I'm gonna have to say high speed internet.
My first connection to a local bbs was done on a 2400 baud modem.
When 14.4's came out, life was great, 28.8's....even better!
I remember when 56k modems came out and heard it would never get any faster because that's all the phone line can handle. 56kbps was just insane.
Look at us now, 30Mbps.
