Angry Hummers And American Cars Suck!

I have had so many American cars in the past and I've been let down so much. But I have not been let down before as much as I have with my Hummer h2...

I bought the 2004 hummer brand ******* new in nov of 2003. It had 1 mile on the odo when I picked it up. now, in feb 2007, it has only 19,000 miles on it and has never been driven in snow/salt.

I noticed like a year or two ago that the undercarriage is rusting! Not only that, on bumps and things, it rattles like there is no ******* tomorrow. I don't have a lot of loose junk in the car (things in the trunk, etc) so that can't explain the rattling! The license place screws are rusted to the point where if I hit them with a hammer, i think they will fall apart!

The entire rear end/exhaust area has rust on it, the side-steps (taht you step on to get in and out of the truck) are rusty and so are some of the suspension components.

I have talked to the dealer and he said that this was normal and said "we must have been driving in some pretty salty roads" to cause this type of damage!!! I live in time square and have only driven this thing ON DRY ROADS WITHOUT SALT AND NEVER IN THE RAIN!!!!!!!!!

Just this past ******* weekend, I opened the sunroof and guess what?!?! it didnt want to close!!! the sunroof motor is dead!!@#!@#!@# I also forgot to mention that the driver side door panel is also coming off! when you pull the drivers side door closed with the handle, it feels like the handle is seperating from the door itself! it feels like if i yank it hard enough, it's gonna break off! the entire door panel looks like it was double-stick taped on!!!

and, for the record, my truck is entirely BONE stock!!!! i have not done a single ******* mod to it!!!!

The only explanation I have come up with is that american cars are **** and don't spend too much money on a car (I paid $65,000 in cash for my hummer). I bought a brand new scion xB last year - my first import car ever - and am pretty happy with it. no rattles or anything and i've put over 12,000 miles on it within a year!

no wonder why american car companies are doing so bad. they give **** product to the masses and expect us to stick with them? well not me! **** them and their ****ed up cars. I'm never buying an american car ever again.

American piece of **** cars like the h2

< / rant >
- sh00k

Note: for anyone thinking im just against american cars for no reason, here is an "incomplete" list of cars that i have owned: 1986 chevy monte carlo SS, 1984 buick grand national, 1989 chevy cavalier, 2002 dodge durango, 2003 chevy avalanche and now the 2004 hummer h2...

I kept wondering why they were so cheap compared to european or even asian cars.

dodge caliber: starting from $15K or something..... That doesn't even get you a small towncar overhere (yeah, I know, the caliber is small to american standards, but in europe that's a pretty big car)

American cars are crap. That is why my entire family owns Japanese cars. And not japanese cars made in america (like honda = ohio for most), but we have imported imported cars. Mine was made in ontario, along with my dads, and soon my sister's.

We owned a Mazda (626 I think) for about 2 months when we first moved to this country. We thought maybe we would try it out. Well It was brand spankin new and so many things went wrong in those 2 months, that we just junked the damn thing...

And bought another toyota and honda. I have had a subaru in the past, and it was great but had over 200,000 miles on it. It still ran strong but neglect on my part (first car, 16, who knew that car's needed regular oil changes? ) so the head gaskets started to bust and the car overheated after 20 minutes of driving.

American cars and Korean cars about equal in their crappiness....

The H1 is the only worthwhile Hummer, IMHO. I have no idea how the quality is compared to the AMGeneral Hummers (pre-GM), though.

the H2 is just a Tonka-fied Tahoe. The H3 is just a Tonka-fied mini-Blazer.

Tell me this. The H2 is supposedly a very off-road capable vehicle.
Someone explain the logic behind slapping 20" (or larger) rims & low-profile tires on an off-road vehicle...
At that point, 4WD is only to help you get over a friggin' speedbump.

Maybe it will have a CarPC built in already running top of the line Windows 95!

I remember watching the cartoon "Cars". At the end of the movies, there is a SUV bootcamp.
Now your comment just crack me up.

I think that's about the extent of GM's technological capability....

It's better than WFW3.11, I guess...
