and how can we do that if it's not here.
And as I suggested before, the Reps should be verified by the moderators before becoming active to ensure they are valid reps.

it was all in good fun... Anyways if it is every brought back, I think that newbies should have the same rep power as senior members, because they are usually the ones who need the advise more and will rep you. When it was still here I had quite a few newbs rep me but I got no more danglies!

He wished me a happy birthday last month! And he still visits DC, just doesn't post. I beat him in posts in DC's MT!

Perhaps after I finish this profile mod I'm working on I will look into this to see if it's even possible.

From what I understand, the admin at digital-car gor sick of his bull**** there, too. I don't know if he was banned or just got ****ed and left the community completely or what.

As a moderator, I spend lots of time shuffling posts from newbies that don't pay attention and deleting spam that y'all never see and helping to troubleshoot new forum mods and such.
I don't want to spend even more time babysitting reputation, thank you very much.
Reputation is supposed to be an honor system. It rewards or admonishes those members that deserve it. Your fruity little rep club (sorry - that episode of South Park was just on) basically destroyed that...
Don't get all ****ed off because we "took it away". It was taken away because you abused it, completely undermining the whole purpose of it. And, as I recall, y'all were teh same ones clammoring for some means to jkeep track of whether a member is trustworthy for classified listings...

Didn't mean you personally, it could be shared across all the MODS, in fact maybe add some new mods whose main job would be to monitor that. I am sure there are a lot more members on here who would like some more responsibility and be able to help out the community.

The 'abusing' of the rep system was a result of the general 'unhappiness' in the way some of the things that were going on between the mods/admin staff and number of 'senior' members. If the rep system hadn't have come along at the time I'm sure something else would have been hit. Also it just showed how easy it was open to abuse. Especially proven by someone from the admin team giving GodofCPu tons of rep points
But hey, I'm not ****ed you took it away, it was fun, but it would be nice to have it back properly managed so it doesn't get abused.

I don't believe the amount of time I spend doing actual moderation tasks is any more or less than any other moderators. The point is that we should not have to babysit rep becuse some people choose to abuse a system that was intended to have genuine meaning and purpose.

The reasoning behind it really doesnt matter.
For well over a year, the membership wanted a way to acknowledge members' trustworthiness. And in an act of ultimate untrustworthiness, members chose to undermine the whole concept of why y'all wanted it in the first place.
That, in my mind, is wholly immature.

Past actions certainly don't dictate future actions, but in this case, what else do we have to go by?
Considering present actions by some, the prevaling maturity level hasn't changed. As such, I'd say that your chances of getting rep is slim to none.

We were having fun to. My C# program was slower than Ody's. I think he wrote it in VB?
All good fun.
