Welcome screen, logon screen, how to get rid of them!!!

Dont like those welcome screen and logon screen when you start your system back from hibernation?

if you dont like tweaking alot with your system or using those different softwares that tweak your windows for you
you can get rid of the welcome and logon screen with a couple of clicks by unchecking two boxes.

first, disable the welcome screen by doing this:

Control Panel > User Accounts > change the way users log on and off > (uncheck) Use the welcome screen..

second, disable the logon screen/dialog by this:

Contral Panel > Display > Screen Saver (tab) > Power > Advanced (tab) > (uncheck) Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby
this option applies for hibernate as well

and you shall go from here:

To here:

TweakUI will also do this for you, if you have a password (defeats purpose, but is still there for some reason).

very nice tweak. I always just use tweakui for the welcome screen function, but that's even better....

thats right ... but from my opinion, i see that achieving your target whitout the using of tweaking tools would somehow be better and safer.

I think something like tweakui is fine as it comes from microsoft themselves, so it is only subject to their usual bloat and bad programming as opposed to third party tweak programs which although more tightly written my contain spyware.

This is great, but what about loosing the XP screen when system goes into hibernation???

I would like to change this, to make it look more OEM.

I need help with the logon screen. Everytime I shutdown the pc and reboot, I have to login. I have used the tweak UI program and it will work a couple of times then start bringing up the login screen again. Whats going here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Go to start > run > "control userpasswords2" without the quotes of course. You will see something about disabling password entry at logon or something close to that.
