Sorry if this has been posted...
In the following image you will notice large icons on the windows desktop...
http://www.mp3car.com/images/top.jpg
I thought this was cool and was wondering how to set that up...
Right click on your desktop
Click Properties
Select the 'Appearance' tab
Click 'Advanced' button
Select 'Icon' from the 'Item' dropdown list
Change the Size
Click OK
Click Apply

...or get XPize - http://xpero.msfn.org/
It'll make everthing look nice in addition to giving you a utility to change icon properties.

Don't know.
One time on my computer, the tray icons shrunk to half the size they were normally for no apparent reason - there were two rows of them.
I tried to figure out how to resize them, but could never do it.
Eventually I resized my desktop icons, and the tray icons went back to normal size. So I think they might be linked, but don't quote me on that.

another way to get big icons is to use desktopx, samurize (albeit indirectly) or avedesk.

Right-click on the desktop
Properties
Appearance tab
Advanced
Item = Icon
Increase the size to about 70 or 80 pixels. Tweak the size to get what you want.
You don't need some app to resize icons.

Same area. Change the size of the caption buttons. It defaults to 25 pixels.

D'oh! I was reading through all these silly applications that people are using to change screen appearance and missed the original post. Sorry if I stole your thunder, amigo.

Nice recovery with the tip for the tray icon! It works.
Unfortunately tray icons dont look too pretty enlarged. But hey if i wanted a pretty interface i'd buy an OEM setup

in an effort to make this place a tad more organized, I took the liberty to stick this thread.
I'm going to be looking for other optimization how-to threads as well to stick.

why not change the actual icon, so it looks better when resized?
http://www.jonmega.com/iceman/stuff/systray/
That page has info and links to a tutorial on how to change systray icons, also lists Objectbar by Stardock as a program that will enable you to change them.
