Microsoft has/had a deal going where you review 5 short tutorial clips on their site and get a free copy of VB Pro. Got mine in the mail a few weeks ago, even though I don't use VB :P
I have to take a vb class this fall for my degree, so I guess it will come in handy then.

Sleep
more mods, glad to see you're still interested in this project. However, I've been busy with school and working on some other little tools (like viz plugins, etc...) in my spare time. I was hoping someone else would step up and work on the code, but I think everyone else must either be busy or lacking the required programming skills. When I get some free time from school, I'll pick this project back up again and try to put together a little distro.

Ah into fedora core i go. I'm hoping to fiddle with Kickstart and maybe get a base of a distro. Just fiddling around. edit:: hmm LFS looks promising.

Pudge, LFS is most definitely the way to go. If you could play around with it and put together a distro package that includes ALSA, xine-lib (runtime library only), Qt (runtime & SQLite plugin only), SQLite (runtime), headunit, (and some other base packages), it would be fantastic! We may also want to consider adding Wine and Routis or Destinator to that list to prove all the non-believers wrong. Initially, we should aim to put together a CD ISO image so that people can try it out easily by booting the CD on their desktop. If you haven't done this before, it will be very challenging but you will learn a LOT about Linux from it.
EDIT: I forgot to add framebuffer device drivers to that list (we don't need X11)

Taking a look at your code right now. Mostly as a learning tool, if you dont mind. I used to study CS.
One suggestion though, even though i know it doesnt matter because you're the only working on the project...but more commenting?

Not sure if anyone asked these questions, here goes:
1) Will users be able to browse through music in the way that media car works (Artist/Album/Track)?
2) Will support/drivers for xenarc and lilliput touch screens be imbedded into the Linux distro?
3) Will the Linux distro support the EPIA Mini-ITX boards such as the m10k?
4) Will there be any way to imbed Routis? (When I open up Routis in media car and then go to change a music track or album, Routis is sent to the back, and I am no longer able to access it without closing it and then starting over again)
5) Are there any advantages to the possible Linux distro version as opposed to the windows one? Faster boot time? More stable?

Hmm, put this with some other useful car apps on linux (are there any gps for linux?) and create a distro as an ISO and we'd have a winner!

Navigator 4 runs on linux, hence the reason I ask.

For a live demo of HU, I'm thinking of maybe adding on several packages to Slax, an existing live linux distro based on slackware.
