I'm going to give it a look in the coming days, but maybe you have a headstart already or know a lot about something which can make you get to an end product quicker.

I'll be looking into it shortly. I got as far as trying FreeDrive under cedega, crossover, and wine, with no luck. I don't have a GPS reciever to test with, so all I'll be able to do is run the software.

Sorry about that. Small break in order to do some 'for money' work. I've made some minor changes in the user interface (graphics only), and I'm working on the mp3 parser that I wrote. I'll have the 0.7 version, with source, shortly.

I have been working on a cross platform system similar to this one... however i've been using java (for the hell of it) with mplayer to play media - If you release the source to this I would be more than happy to contribute! i may be able to embed mplayer video output into the application itself (i can in java)

That sounds excellent! The source will be made available with the 0.07 release. After that, I think I may need to do some refactoring to make things a bit more streamlined.

Any and all contributions would be welcome.

If you do, I (and a lot of other Linux people) are major league interested.

Blatent plug.

Let me throw in a plug for VMWare.

VMware now offers a free VMware player. You can't create VMs and lose some other features of Workstation 5, but for many people it's perfect. If someone who owned Workstation made a Linux VM available, others could legally use it for free in VMplayer.

You mentioned VMware Workstation. I was pointing out a way that you could share your Linux VM with others for free (legally).
