Oh, I see... I can share the workstation with anyone who wants to help out... like I said, I'm stuck on it at the moment... just wont load and jumps CPU up to 100%...

on the London map I get some kind of GDImage error iirc... dunno how to go about it but i will try and sift through some documentation see if I can get it to work somehow...

my idea is to make just a map module, that would run under wine... the frontends could then control the stuff with some sort of connection method (tcp or not, depending on what can be supported through wine) to get data/set data to the SDK... that way the emulated part will be basically only the sdk+comm layer, keeping the emulation to a minimum (hopefully bumping up the performance)... on the other hand, linux fe developers will need to put more effort in to make the rest of the app functional (dialogs, address dialogs, etc)... on the plus-side to this approach, it should be fairly easy for a xplatform FE to work with this in windows and linux/wine...

Oh well, for now its just a dream anyways...

update:

I was initially doing all of this under Destinator3... anyways, I just tried loading the DLLs and such for DestonatorPN.

Suprisingly it gets a bit further along... The Destinator dialog comes up, but the window "trembles"... it seems to be constantly moved up and down about 40 pixels or so... it is very weird, but it "flashes" about due to this resizing...

When there are several maps to choose from I can see the choose map dialog, but it doesnt let me selectr anything (with all the flashing, I can even see the select buttons)...

With only one map I dont get the pickmap dialog, but it still just flashes and moves about... I'm kinda stuck on this one too I guess... will have to try some more stuff out.

Can someone tell me though, exactly what DLLs are required by DPN?

Cheers (below a snapshot)

(check the bottom of the DestPN window, you can kinda see the "resize-flashing")

Update:

Not that anyone is particularly interested,BUT...

It seems that somehow it has stopped with the flashing ...

It is now loading the Destinator PN, showing the splash window, the progress bar goes all the way, and then it exits with an error:

You don't have sqlite 2.0 installed on your system.

Your distro should have an install for it somewhere.

Gerald

ps: dev work on this has halted. If anyone wants the rather mangled source, I'll make it available. I switched to Windows and Road Runner for my system.

Dammit, I got sqlite 3....

Yes, you can shoot the sources, I'll get an eye on them and I'll see if I can and have time to do something.

Cheers,
Cedric

There's one a bit earlier in this thread. The project has been quiet for a long time, though I'm considering bring it back to life. Is anyone still interested in it?
