Almost perfect trans_1.

Just need to right_click --. properties on the picture itself and use that url

http://www.trimarc.org/images/snapshots/CCTV058.jpg

However I can easily work with what you've done, cheers.

Oh and I believe the second gps co-ord should be a negative and you have lat and lon round the wrong way (or is that JohnWPB?)

trans_1 is an unknown quantity at this point
I can do that (and will). I thought you needed the web page. I'll go back and "fix" it.
Thanks

Basically I would like the main page url the cameras are on and then the individual links to each camera.

I can just work with the main page url, it will just mean it will take longer before those cameras appear in the database.

Because of the info your have provided (and JohnWPB, Zeeshan and Achiever) those cameras should appear in the next few days. Just need to test them out over a couple of days, make sure they update and the url's don't change from day to day.

I am not sure if I have them backwards or not hehehe but when pasting this:

Quote:
26.657949,-80.069915

Into Google Earth, or Google maps, it displays the correct location.

I can save you a little time, the URL's for the Florida cams do not change. I have used them on a Home Automation page I have here, and have been using the same URL's for just over 5 years now, and have never had them change.

Louisiana

The state of Louisiana has one website with all of the traffic cameras for the cities of:
New Orleans
Baton Rouge
Laplace
Denham Springs
Lafayette
Lake Charles
Opelousas

Awesome Idea. When I get my carputer up and running I'll have to check it out.

Enforcer,
When I originally made that post I had only read the beginning of the thread. At this point I have still only skimmed it, but it looks like people have been providing you wiht GPS coordinates and other information. Is there anything I can do to help?

I don't know how much work each camera is for you, but there are 53 cameras on that website.

well I have already put a lot of work in gathering most of the cameras currently in the US, UK, Sweden,Luxemborg and Australian Databases, the US and UK so far being the biggest. I have also got quite a few countries coming online in the next few days, plus some updated US ones. Now I will still harvest cameras from links provided, but if people could actually do the basic harvesting for me from their links, thenit will mean them getting into the database quicker, as I will be taking a break from harvesting soon to bring my skins up to date, plus I have some other programs which also need updating.

As for collection of data, the basics are the description/location of where the camera is and is url, usually ending in .jpg (this can be collected by rightclicking and then properties on the picture).

A bonus is if the GPS coords can be collected as well, for something which may be added if we can get enough of the cameras with GPS coords to make it worthwhile.

So what a few others have posted ie, place/location, url, lat and lon plus the main url is brilliant.

If everyone does it for their region then there is a lot of people doing a small chunk of work, instead of few doing a lot.
