Country Database selectable in program
Display cameras by GPS location.

Being a beta expect the possibility of bugs and errors and be prepared to shout about them.

Also when the the 1.4 (or greater) release version is, eh? released, the beta will expire.

New 1.3.0 version out this is basically the 1.3.2 beta which seems stable. - Versions from 1.1.6 will automatically update so no need to re-download. (although version(s) 1.1.8 and 1.1.9 may not)

Those running recent versions may find it beneficial to download this version and replace your version of the starter program. Only do this if you have a msatuev.exe file in your Traffic Cams folder NB. this is not the full program just the starter.

NB users of the 1.3.2 Beta will need to download the new version as that will not automatically update.

Website & Download

Map of where cameras are (only the ones where I have GPS coords), your area not there? then get me the coords if the camera is already in the database or if cameras in your area not in database get me the camera urls and GPS coords.

Clicking on the icon will give you the Camera ID and it's GPS coords. (trying to add location as well)

Instructions
------------

If you have previously used Traffic Cams or Traffic Cams International then delete
all previous files apart from trafficams.ini. Make a backup of this file and store for
later.

For all : extract from the zip to your Road Runner (or any Front End) folder. This will create
a folder called Traffic Cams. Run register.bat.

AND THEN READ THE README.TXT

Yes, International.

Traffic Cams is now one program that will do many countries, rather than seperate programs for each country. Also the search facility is incorporated within the same program. So an all in one solution.

Initially there are five countries (UK, US, Sweden, Australia and Luxemburg), but more will added (Denmark, Finland,Hong Kong, France, Germany and Taiwan) are on my immediate list.

Your country/town not on the lists? What can you do? Get me the url's of sites which provide static traffic camera images and I shall try to add them to the databases.

Basic instructions.

Download the Traffic Cam 1.1.zip from my forum, extract to your Road Runner (Front End) folder. Read the readme.txt.

Q. I have put my country code in the ini but there is no cameras in the list?

A. The initial download only comes with the UK database, after you have entered your country code in the ini, run the program and leave it running for at least 5 mins. If the skin you are using has the 'New Database' indicator on it, it should light up when a new database is downloaded, click on this indicator and it will load the new database. If the skin has no indicator, stop and restart the program. If the database is still not there it could be that my website is down, you are behind a firewall which has blocked the download or the program itself was updating.

Q. Why is my country not supported?

A. I have collected as many countries as I can where I can, either from searching or other users providing links, if you country is not supported it is either I haven't found a website with the cameras or if I have they are moving images which TC does not support at this time. Bear in mind if the site is not in English I may have trouble understanding it.

Q. Why is my State/Town/City not supported?

Q. I have found a site for my Country/State/Town/City what do I need to do to get these added to the databases?

A. If it is a new Country then firstly provide me with a link, if it is not in English you may have to harvest the info yourself. Please provide the info in the following format

NB the lat and lon need to be in decimal format and not Degrees Minutes, seconds. ie (34.4567,-23,9465)

Q. How can I download this wonderful creation?

A. Register on my forum at www.en4cer.co.uk/forum , when activated go to the downloads section.

Q. I have registered on your site but am still not activated, why?

A. I do not monitor the forum registrations 24/7 so it could take hours or possibly a day or two before I can activate you. If I am going away I will normally put this info into the news section of the forum. If however after a few days of registering you have not been activated then contact me via PM here. Using the same username as you do on here will help you get activated quicker.

Q. Does this application only work with a front end programs like RR & CF?

A. Yes, but it is better to use the dedicated plugins for those frontends.

Q. How do I change the size?

A. Since version 1.3x TC will autosize when embedded in a frontend. If used standalone the size can be controlled as follows.

The size is physically controlled by the skin.ini (found in the skin folder) file settings

Height=546

or if not present the same settings in the Trafficams.ini file in the TC root directory

Q. Can I use RRSkineditor to edit the skin?

A. Do not use RRSkineditor with these skins.

Q. How do I embed this is my FrontEnd?

A. Refer to your Frontends instructions for embedding external applications. Window name is Trafficams - msatuev

Q. Would someone care to send me this?

A. The Terms And Conditions expressly forbid the distribution of this program, please register on my forum to get your copy.

Q. Does this show redlight and speed cameras?

A. No, this is only for traffic movement cameras, for speed cameras a red light cameras try Gatso Hunter.

Q. Is the video live or updated? or mix?

A. Currently this is only static image cameras, these get updated by the websites anything from every second to soem which update every 20mins.

Q. Does your plugin accepts video traffic cams?

A. Not at present, this maybe something for the future, but at the moment this would probably take too much bandwith.

Q. I would love to be able to add some custom images to the traffic cam app?

A. At present this is not possible, but it something I will look into

Q. How do you pull coordinates for traffic cams?

A. This can be very laborious.

One method is to use google earth combined with the website the cameras are on and the Traffic Camera pictures.
You will need to look at roughtly where they say it is (there is normally a map of sorts), look at the picture, zoom in on google earth until you can marry the picture image with what is seen in google earth and then read the co-ordinates. It also helps if you are fairly familiar with the area/country.

Sometimes you are lucky and if you look at the source of the page with the map, it will sometimes provide the GPS coords in their somewhere, these can then just be copy and pasted into notepad.

Q. Why do you need the GPS coords with the cameras?

A. Two fold, one is to be able to see on a map where a camera is in the serach screen, help you decide if it is somewhere you go. And secondly I hope to add the ability to show cameras based on the position, so as you move it will always show the cameras nearest to you.
