*Release* FrodoXM Service (Now Free!)
Code:
Changelog
******
FrodoXMService.exe 1.0.0.3
--Bug Fix: CurrentChannelData event bug fixed.
******
FrodoXMService.exe 1.0.0.2
--Bug Fix: ChannelChange event bug fixed.
******
FrodoXMService.exe 1.0.0.1
--Bug Fix: Out of order data in emulation mode.
******
FrodoXMService.exe 1.0.0.0 Original Release
I've decided to release it free
FrodoXMService_Beta_4.zip
Code:
Frodo XM Service(1.0.0.3) & Frodo XM Client DLL
Beta 4
©2005 FrodoPlayer.com
©2005 Kevin Lincecum
www.frodoplayer.com
frodo [at] frodoplayer.com
The Service is meant to run all the time, so add it to your
start menu or whatever way you choose to launch the software
on startup.
The client dll is a COM dll. It needs to be registered in order
to be used.
A simple VB6 example is provided for your use.
If you do not have XM, and would still like to try your hand
at developing an app, set the emulation mode to true in the
"FrodoXMService.ini" to have some fake data sent out to clients.
Comport is set in the "FrodoXMService.ini" file.
Service starts muted.
But remember, I'm broke, so if this gets popular....
Now developers, get to work !!!!
I want to see some apps by the end of the day
.

Awesome
Another thing for me to get working in A.I.M.E.E (but this one is something I've been waiting for for a long time!)
Cheers, Frodo!

No.
Hence why development in AIMEE of XM has been non-existant up til now - we've no hardware, and no way to test any code.
This service from Frodo will make life much easier - and it will allow multiple CarPC applications to use XM using the awesome work that Frodo has put into place already - all for free!

Frodo will you still be releasing an ocx?
I'm working with flash so i'm somewhat limited. Getting dll's to work are extremely difficult in flash.

It's an activeX dll. Same thing as an ocx, except not graphical.
Can you not use it ?

No unfortunatly, I tried it out real quick. Using Zinc to make an extension for flash and it was a no go.
How hard is it to make an ocx from what you have already done. I would be more than happy to donate more than $10 which it what you were originally going to charge, if it's not too dificult.
The only other problem on the flash side it that as of now I cannot reconize events, I can only call methods and get/set properties.
So if it is really dependant on events I might be out of luck anyways.
Let me know either way Frodo, I would love to give it a go.
"Edit"
It would not need to be graphical at all, you would not even see it embeded.
