Wow, that is awesome! May I suggest keeping the 'arrow' in the same original location, on the top left (large version on top of the small arrow), and the street name etc on the top as you have it now?

OMG nice
True! If he manages to read the info from memory, he could render it in nice fonts etc without having to magnify

If I cant eventually ill make a function to interpret the text with some kind of text recognition. But that takes more cpu cycles then just reading from memory.

Could you do that anyway and have it call out the names of the streets that are coming up on turns?
This is wonderful!

The speed and all the other things that my app zooms only updates every half a second. So iguidance is a fraction of a second ahead.
edit: which should be negligable because gps only updates every second or so anyway.

Purdoom: The problem is that the bar on the right is presenting accurate and real-time distance. On the other hand, you are taking the 'turn by turn' listing and embedding it at the top. This one gives you the fixed distance between one turn and the next, kind of like mapquest does. It is not dynamic, but rather static/fixed.
So, now that I realize this, I would say it is not a good idea to have that distance there at the top... the one on the slider to the right is the ideal one. Any way you can put that one instead, or remove the static distance altogether?

I notice that each time you "click" or give focus to the route list it updates. So whenever you are in guidance mode (which causes the directions at the top) it just keeps "clicking" the route list which updates the distance.
It works there is just a difference of sometime between 0 seconds and .5 seconds where iguidance updates its distance and the next turn bar updates as well.

Progress update: Popout menu
Before:
Upon pressing of button:
All the buttons work as well, except for the next turn button (for now). And as always all this stuff is coded into the skin (including the text on the buttons) so its open to customization
Were still looking at a few days before I put out beta 2.
