how come when i run igmod... the buttons on the screen don't do anything? they're just sitting there and nothing happens when i touch them. the original buttons are still there too. also... igmod runnning makes my taskbar pop up for no reason. how do i fix this?

the normal iguidance buttons shouldnt be there anymore. That looks like ur not running a patched version of the .exe

Try using the latest "preview" release in my sig line. It looks like you are using the older 2.1 release.

Btw everyone else: After taking a week break from coding, I am back on the project again. Official beta should be out soon.

I just ordered iGuidance and a USB GPS receiver with the Star III chipset. I wanted to post to this thread to get notifications of posts. I'm really looking forward to running this software! The screenshots look absolutely fabulous!

In the future, just know that you can subscribe a thread (and get the notifications) by clicking "thread tools" at the top of the thread (next to "search this thread" and just below the page number list) and choose "subscribe to this thread".

For some reason, my map always comes up with Heading instead of North up. Does IGM change this on startup?

Yea, wups... ok heres what to do (ill make this configurable in future releases I hope)

start-run-regedit-ok
hkey_current_user\software\inav\iguidance
set value options to 12340 (decimal)
start iguidance without igmod
mess with whatever settings you like that you want iguidance to start with on startup
close iguidance
refresh regeditor
get the new value for options (decimal)
put that value in the runner.ini on the appropriate line

-or-
start-run-regedit-ok
hkey_current_user\software\inav\iguidance
set value options to 12340 (decimal)
remove the line that edits the registry from the runner.ini (not sure if latest preview release will support this or not...)

I plan on adding the ability to have igmod play some sounds according to what it realizes is going on. So far I have the following sounds thought up:

- Entering guidance mode
- Going too fast (speed alert)
- Resuming safe speed (speed alert)

- Turn in less than 20 seconds (if I figure out how to anticipate this)

These sounds (dings or whatever you choose) could optionally play when the rest of iguidance is muted (because its a pain to have the speaker blare out directions all the time when you have company in the car).

Any suggestions for other audiable queues that iguidance is thinking something?

(Oh and for who requested it I'll try real hard to add in the ability to have igmod know when a turn is occouring when not visible so it can take focus or run a script like mapmonkey does)

Speed alerts are already part of iguidance. I like the other ideas though!

Yes, but this has some advantages:

looking good, keep up the good work...so the next release will be beta3?
Will the skinning be any different from the lastest preview version...I would like to start making a skin to match the MC2.0 in RR

and whats your ETA, cant wait

I'm having a heck of a time getting IGMod to embed properly in CF the first time I try. I'm using CF 1.5 now but was having the same problem with 1.4. I mentioned this in a post a few days ago. I'll try to get you a screen shot of what it looks like when it doesn't embed properly.

The only differences I forsee are:
-Possibly different code dealing with adding/removing/editing favorites
-Possibly different code dealing with POI
-I threw on a few more buttons on the main interface to go with guidance mode.

Feel free to start making the images and leave the code alone for now
