I suppose it could be... I didn't want too because the GPS coordinates for addresses produced by superpages are sometimes off by 1000 or 2000 feet, but if I had a method to type in arbritrary addresses (from the user or from superpages) into iguidance then superpages faulty coordinates would not be an issue.

Also, I asked this but am not sure if you plan on implementing. The idea is that anytime iGuidance switches to the "guidance" screen, an event will be raised so that we can switch our front end temporarily to GPS mode. (Then after the guidance screen goes away, it'll be switched back to the previous screen). A Girder event would be great so it's not front-end dependant.
The problem with that is I can only tell when we are entering guidance mode if the gps window is visible (which ususally isnt the case if we are looking at another module in our front end). If I suddenly imagine some other method to detect this then ill implement it. However, its not high on my list of priorties right now.

Thanks for the hard work, dude.

Thanks again.
I think there's free code out there that can calculate the GPS coordinates for a given address.
I think Yahoo Yellow Pages is more complete and up-to-date.
Yeah, if you could get this feature to work, it'll be great. We won't even need iGuidance's limited POI database then.

I like iguidance's POI database personally, even tho it is limited, I find it useful when I'm in a sitaution out somewhere without net access.

Im redesigning the skin using features I have incorporated later in the old line of iGmod code. So far, this is the main menu:
It still needs the rest of the icons put in place (easy). Now I need some advice: How should the window title look? The yellow on blue looks out of place with the rest of centrafuse. Anyone have any advice (or a ghetto photoshop concept art)?

perhaps just make the yellow title text white..?
is the menu title a static part of the image, or is it dynamic?

b8bboi, regarding the local database idea, I was thinking of trying to create a macro to do that myself, but couldn't find a free database I could download and store locally. I was gonna try to set up a search interface to the POI database, pull the address and have it enter into iGuidance.

If you could access the data from the POI database in any way, I could use that code (or even notes on how all the ig poi files relate to eachother) to make a searchable POI that enters coordinates or addresses to navigate to.
If not, I am going to make a searchable window with all the categories so you can type in "Gas station" or "mexican food" and it will hop through the appropriate menus for you.

Just wondering...in the new igmod release...is igmod going to be "ontop" on iguidance so you wont see the iguidance windows flash before the current igmod window comes up? Im using CF would like to see only CF and iGmod...
Also...the new menu looks great but..what if some people use iguidance full screen not in the smaller window like in the screen shot...the menu would look out of place...will there be an option to have the menu center screen when in full screen and have it as pictured above when not in full screen?
