I wanted an option to use regular search (no fulltext), like a "FULLTEXT ON/OFF" button in the OSK. Would it be possible?
When you write a text now, with the first two characters GN will list the streets/city that begin with that text; then with three or more chars, it performs a full text search. I may add that button in the future!

Seeing as we all know how deficient & buggy the Destinator SDK is, why haven't people started using the new TomTom 5 SDK to code new apps. ???

As I know TomTom 5 SDK is only for PDA, not for Windows XP! Have I miss something?! :S
Furthermore TomTom maps are far worse than Destinator... I have TomTom 5 on the cellphone and is awful compared to Destinator PN maps...

The maps on PN that I got are actually pretty good.... overall sdk functions and flexibility isnt so great though... (changing map fonts, etc, changing map colors, routing options, tmc, etc,etc,etc)
Garo, I understand now about the first 2 letters... I'd appreciate the button though, cause I have 45000 streets +/-, and the first 2 letters usually doesnt get me to a list small enough to find the street I want...
Also, you should take a look at the number thing... I have noticed that sometimes not all numbers show up...
in one case (MIN Rocha Azevedo Al), the numbers go upto somewhere near 1400, but garonav stops at 136
Thanks for your efforts!

Nice direction arrow but distance to turn displays the wrong units ie miles instead of yards.

Newbie question
Hi-
Sorry for the newbie question, but where do I place the Destinator maps? I am using Freedrive.
Thank you for the software, it's awesome!

Why are you posting here?! wtf? there is a FreeDrive forum, but anyways, maps go into:
c:\DestinatorApps\Destinator\MAPNAME
inside the MAPNAME folder you put all the .txt .WCE, etc files that compose the map.
You just need to create a folder for each map and destinator will show it on the list automatically

What about making it an option ?
@Shawjohn... I thought the SDK was PPC only but seeing as I have not been able to get a copy I cant tell you...
May be if you have you can pass to these guys or one other member I can think of ( PM me ) who converted the PPC version of Destinator right at the begining.

No, I think I'll do something like:
< 1000 ---> meters/yards
> 1000 ---> km/miles
However: be ready, I should release a PN SDK based version in a few days, if everything goes right... So no update for a while

no problem it is actually the same process for GaroNav so its ok to leave in this thread...
I was just a bit since this is just a lone thread in a pretty much hidden forum, whereas there is a dedicated FD forum which I thought would be much more obvious a place to ask... I was a bit taken a back that you got to the trouble of fidning THIS thread, and didnt find the FD forum... glad I could help, though
