Most poeple in here just want the controller.
By the way...phone control is really nice. Thanks for the good work.
I just installed it but cant get it to work with infrared. Not sure if im doing it right.
As far as I understood the thread, you'll need a separate phone to place it anywhere hidden (e.g. the drivers seat). You won't do that with your regular phone, do you?
A few questions about PhoCo:
1. Did you install the IrCOMM driver?
2. Did you try to establish the connection trough HyperTerminal?
3. Did you read the documentation (chapter 10)?

Yes, I know...
Ok do it... I go to bed now.
Please be aware of one thing: Don't use port numbers above 16 for IrCOMM (you'll be asked at setup). PhoCo can't handle it otherwise.

Back to the original thread.
I've found something called L.O.S.A (shortform for List Of Stamp Applications)
Entry #158 looks very promissing
I'd say anyone who's interessted should contact this guy.

BS2-IC provides initialization, timing, filtering, and data

BS2 can handle this reliably.

minimize to task bar not tray?
Not sure if this has been asked before, no time to search right now, but can you make PC minimize and maximize from the task bar like a regular window?
Its a super big pain to click the little icon in the tray on my 7in screen.
If this is allready possible, sorry
Thanks

It's not in yet.
You can place an Icon on your desktop instead or configure a button in MediaCar or what so ever.
Once PhoCo is running, it'll not start another instance, it'll rather get the first instance into the foreground.

Here I found a link including the source code :
http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/r..._gps_track.asp
http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm...te_number/1790
Im not too sure if its complete but I think the bare minium codes are there to get started. Ill like to try it but I dont have the tools for it...any one?
I just think BASIC stamp is too expensive for what they are, so im still doing more research on AT commands, NMEA sentences and PICs USART.

.NET Framework
I've tried installing the program, but i get a message saying:
This setup requires the .NET Framework version 1.1.4322. Please install the .NET Framework & run this setup again. The .NET Framework can be obtained from the web....
How can I get this to work when i don't have the internet on my car computer??
Thanks

Looks pretty good to me.
Be aware that anyone who like to use this, must have a mobile phone which is capable to send out a SMS in Text mode! You also must reprogramm the phone number where it's supposed to send the SMS to.

I don't agree with that. You have consider two things: - You must have a microcontoller that already has two serial interfaces. There are not as much as you might think (Motorola HC12 for example but as far as I know it's almost double the price of the Basic Stamp).
- With the Basic Stamp you get all the Development stuff you need. For most of the other microcontroller you have to buy it separate (and some of them are very expensive).
However, it's your choice
Since this discussion has nothing to do with PhoneControl itself, please continue within the originated thread, so that people who are interessted in won't miss that information.

Go on my website and click "Download". There's a link to the .NET Framework.

I mounted my GPS mouse on top of the metal beam behind my dash (behind glove box and pass. air bag). It is completely invisible and would be very hard to find! My gps signal seems to be just fine; it always is locked on to at least 4 sats at any time.
