GRPS, PhoCo, Uploading = GPS Tracking
If i had a text file from NM's Destinator Front end, would PhoCo be able to upload it to an FTP server or anywhere on the the net?
If no, would PhoCo be able to read the contents of said text file and SMS it to a default mobile number?
Text file contents would be co-ordinates etc...
the other thing - can PhoCo support two mobiles - poss not at same time?
here we go:
I have another mobile in the car somewhere hidden and hardwired into keep the battery going, i send it a text and it "activates" something that either uploads the co-ords to a server or texts them back to my phone (probably better!)
Tracking Cellphone could be used on a datacable, so my personal mobile is still available to use PhoCo as normal over bluetooth....
ideas?

here we go:
http://www.kh-gps.de/sms_trk.htm
the only difference to your "wish" is, that you need a second GPS antenna. the rest is like you want it
(sometimes scifi movies aren't that bad for ideas )

SciFi movies!!!! where hjave you seen this one before!??
Why would it not be possible!?
The only things to implement would be file uploading and getting PhoCo to execute a command when a specific text was recieved....

Is you CarPC also wired to the battery all the time? How much "time" that would be when you leave your car?
I agree that this is a nice feature but it doesn't make much sense in PhoCo.
But if you really wanna have it, use the Remote Control Interface of PhoCo, monitor incoming SMS - if it's got a special message like "I love SciFi" (only a proposal ) - do what you have to do and send it back.
Btw: Even though Dirk9n's is in German, it shows you the perfect solution for a standalone device which can be "ON" all the time (just look at the pictures).

I'm a great Sci-Fi fan ( mostly books ) , and I sometimes wonder if are the writers stealing ideias from scientists, or the other way around

No, it's from the Czech writer Karel Capek and comes from the word "robota" which means "work"
(Now you all know how I wasted my youth )

You're absolutly right. http://www.robotics.utexas.edu/rrg/l...tory/#useRobot
I tought I read somewhere that it was Asimov, probably I was confused between the word "Robot" and the "3 Laws"
