Question Phonecontrol and Motorola v3

Hi, I have a Motorola v3 razor phone and want to use it with phonecontrol but im having problems. I understand that the phone only supports one Bluetooth connection. So this stops me using phonecontrol and having hands free enabled with the pc at the same time. To get around this I am using a USB cable connected on port 8 with phonecontrol and the Bluetooth connection for the hands free on the computer. This basically is working with phonecontrol finding the phone and reading the phone book.

The problems im having are

The phonecontrol answer and end call buttons only work intermittently causing my v3 to stay connected to the call even when I have pressed end call button in phonecontrol

I can’t seem to send or receive text messages from phonecontrol

Only the read phone book button works from the selection of right hand buttons

When a call comes in it shows the call from unknown?

I have searched and read that other v3 user have managed to use phonecontrol to its full potential. Is this all the functions I can use from phonecontrol? Could you share your phonecontrolconfig file?
Any pointers would be great. Thanks
Ps. I have searched and read the whole Motorola thread. And im still stuck.

on new pc (win2000)

hi zorro . have sent a email with my log. thanks

for other forum users.

i have tried this on a new pc since my last post ( connected on port 4) and that has managed to give me full phonebook control. eg lasted dialed etc. also i can now send a text message .so two problem fixed. the problems i still have are.

1. phonecontrol does not indicate a new text received
2. intermittent use of end call button
3. unknown caller.

also must functions of phonecontrol do not run when the phone has a received text message on display but phonecontrol does not see it.

1. That's not PhoCo. See 3.
2. Try to add <Hangup>H</Hangup> in your Config ((<Communication id="Motorola"> section).
3. For any reason your phone doesn't support CLIP (transmission of the caller ID). Set <UseClip>False</UseClip> in your Config. This will enable you to see incoming SMS but you still won't know who's calling.

<edit>
Forgot to mention: set <UseCLCC>True</UseCLCC> as replacement for the missing CLIP.
</edit>

zorro have sent my logs via email. thanks once more.
anyone else that is intrested , some more info

I have done a bit of testing with hyper terminal and have found that my phone gives a no reply for the commands a+clcc=? and a+clip=? . with a call connected or not.
Therefore I guess these are not supported by v3.

I ran two logs The first is from a call, which was dialled out and not receipted. I was unable to end this call via phonco

The second was dialled out and accepted. I was able to end this call once it had been accepted.

Therefore my problem is that I can’t cancel an outgoing call until it gets answered.
Thanks.

Ok, your missing one thing. That's <UseCNMI mode="2,1">True<UseCNMI> in your config file.

The major thing that concerns me is that you get (as some of other Moto users) a Timeout on dial.
This means that the phone isn't responding with "OK" how it's supposed to.

Can you please try to dial out with HyperTerm and let me know what the phone is reporting.

I guess, you'll have to upgrade your phones firmware.

hmmm... strange ... "NO CARRIER" is something I do check...

Is there a blank line between the atd... and NO CARRIER?

ZORRO. some more test show that in hyper terminal when you dial out you have no more control of phone. as soon as you start to type new command starting with A the phone ends call and hyper terminal shows NO CARRIER .

no blank line in hyper terminal. the cursor stays on the dial command and i have to type on top of that command.

results
ATD07913417???;
NO CARRIER

once call is acepted you then have hyper termianl control which enables you to end the call with ath

ATD07913417???;
OK
ath
OK

Well, that explains why PhoCo runs into a timeout... I guess, you need an firmware update. I can't handle that in PhoCo (every atempt would cause errors on other phones).

Sorry about that.

Hi,
I have read these posts and I am not able to make my v3 work.
I am running the 1.4.5 version of the PhoneControl. Drivers installed: WIDCOMM 4.
I open my v3 and make the laptop(in my case) as a handsfree set. But when I ran the Phoco, it keeps in screen "Resseting phone". I tried to add the command False to reset. Ok, it does not show me that screen but I am not able to dial or doing anything.
Can you please tell me barely what to do in steps?. Thx a lot.
