Mot V551 BT - PhoCo and/or Headset

I'm looking for a bit of guidance here. Been playing with PhoCo and my V551 using both a USB-Serial connection as well as a BT connection to the CarPC. I don't have a solution yet that I like, so maybe someone can offer up a pointer to fix one of my possible solutions. Getting another phone is not an option at this point.

Ideally, because of the single BT connection supported on the V551, I was going to get a cradle, wire it up to the USB-Serial cable and a power adapter, and connect to PhoCo with a serial connection so that I could use my BT headset. This would also put the phone in a nice position for reception and charge it up while in the car. The problem is that with the BT headset activated, apparently the V551 doesn't send the ring information over the COM port, so PhoCo doesn't show an incoming call. The phone rings of course, but PhoCo doesn't show the incoming Caller ID nor does it mute the music if running under RoadRunner. Sucks.

Option No. 2 is to connect the CarPC and PhoCo via BT. This seems to work okay, but I don't want to use the CarPC as the headset (would be okay sometimes but I don't want my passengers to have to listen to every call). I'd much prefer to use my BT headset, but there doesn't seem to be a way to have PhoCo disconnect the BT connection so I can connect with the headset. Anyone know how to do this? I've tried the BT drop serial option but that doesn't totally drop the BT connection.

I *could* use a corded headset to solve either setup, it's just not as elegant, and the cord would have to be longer based on where I want the phone.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks,
Zogg
