I have been giving it some thought to how you could test the 3rd Eye TPMS on delivery after hacking without going to the trouble and expense of having the sensors fitted to your tyres.
Now as far as I'm aware there only need to be a change in pressure above 2 bar an a slight increase in temperature to show the system is operational, once it has been set up and paired with the receiver/main unit.
I would suggest two ways of being able to confirm that all is well, the first suggestion is the better one, although a bit more expensive if you need to buy the item in question (but I suspect cheaper than having to pay twice to have your tyres removed etc) and the 2nd suggestion is very cheap but I'm not sure if it will work.
As I'm still awaiting my 3rd Eye system I'm relying on other to let us know if either solution works satisfactorily.
1st Test Solution
Lay you hands on one of these or similar:-

[/IMG]
It's a garden hand sprayer with a wide filler mouth.
All you need to do now is rinse it out a few times if it has been used previously to get rid of any nasties (pesticides, insecticides etc), pop a TPMS sensor in it, screw the top back on , pair the sensor with the main unit or hack if not done already. Then pump the pressure up a bit, and I would think it should show a change in pressure. Or you could do it the other way and place the senor in it, pump it up and then pair the sensor.
Now just let out a bit of air using the spray head to simulate a drop in tyre pressure and I would hope you should see the correct alarm/reading on the display/TPMS Doctor program.
2nd Test Solution
Go to your local grocery store and buy a pack of children's party balloons.
Stick TPMS sensor inside balloon, blow up balloon, pair sensor, now either let a bit of air out of balloon or pop balloon with sharp object ! Either way you should see a suitable again on the display/ TPMS Doctor.
In both cases the use of a hair dryer applied to the outside surface maybe able to heat up the air inside the "test vessel" to simulate a rise in temperature, although I'm not sure about this last idea?
Either solution I would think enables you to discover if :-
A/ You have received a good set of sensors and receiver prior to attempting and kind of hack what so ever.
B/ Once you have "hacked" the hardware you can again test every thing prior to getting the sensors mounted inside your wheels.
Have fun Guys.
Cheers Glitch
