I found at first that I seemed to have similar issues, but in the end all I did was put all other sensors I wasn't pairing up with the controller in the other room, far enough away that there was no chance of issues. I know they're not nessecarily meant to be sending info, but I did this regardless.
Then I just made sure the sensors were well away from the controller and was very patient in the learning process, as someone else mentioned, it seemed like sometimes the TPMS doctor and the other applications get a bit grumpy. I basically got them to learn quite easily in the end and once they were done I unplugged the USB module and then ran the RRTPMS plugin and tested, all seemed well so I then loaded the CF plugin and also worked well.........
I have to admit the process isn't fullproof, but if you keep the sensors well away from the controller (2metres) then it seems to help, when I had them too close I was getting no joy.

The sensors are already in the car...
How do you do the 'learn' with TPMS Doctor?

But I STILL can't get the ******* thing to learn! I make sure it's connected, the plugin says it's 'ok', I go into settings, pick the sensor and tire and learn, it's 'waiting', I go and deflate the closest tire (almost flat!!) and it doesn't 'see' diddly-squat...
I'm getting very frustrated...especially considering the time and money I put into this!
Have you tried using RRTMS 1.40 to learn the sensors? You don't have to use the CF plug-in to program, in my experience it is still quite buggy. RRTMS works much better (not to mention it has had many more revisions) when it comes to learning sensors. Once the sensors are learned the data is stored to EEPROM on the board itself so you can see the data on CF after they are learned, you can even switch computers and it should still work identically. Also another thing to look out for is distance. Too close is no good and being to far away doesn't do much good either, I would say about 3-4 feet (1 meter) has been the sweet spot during my testing but I have had the sensor work from as far as 10 meters (outside, open field, using a pesticide sprayer). Also when I tried to put the reciever right next to the sensor when learning the sensor did not want to learn 9 out of 10 times. Also if you haven't already mounted the sensors then it might be best to purchase an inexpensive pesticide sprayer to do the learning so you don't have to keep inflating and deflating your tires. I hope this helps solve some issues...

I am sorry but this list is all filled up, but no worries you will have a chance to buy them once all the waiting list guys have their kits. And don't worry I won't be running out of them any time soon either.

Thanks for the advice...
Yeah, they are already mounted, and the device is on the rear deck lid (hatchback), so it's at least 1 meter away from all sensors I'd think.
I'll try RRTMS today...
I STILL haven't been able to keep it 'installed' as a USB device...it ALWAYS goes missing...and I didn't see any options in X-port for virtual plugging it.

I don't know if keeping it in the trunk is the best idea, RF is a tricky little beast and I am sure your trunk is acting like a giant shield with all the sheet metal. The best place is probably the same place the 3rd eye reciever is supposed to sit, near the top of your front windshield. Also I am not sure why your device goes missing, I am using mine via a 7 port powered hub with no issue like that you mention, but then again my unit is a bit different than yours.

Well, I used the RR version of the config utility, AND IT WORKED!!!!
Yippee!!!
However, as soon I started CF, if was warning me about the pressure being too low, so I went into the CF setup to adjust the upper and lower limits, and I think it stopped monitoring. I had to unplug the device and plug it back it for it to start reading again...
But I'm making progress!!
I might move the unit into the dash and run it off my hub, see if it can stay connected. The BT dongle can go in the trunk
Thanks!
Update...
Switch the TPMS to the hub, rebooted, fired up CF and it didn't ***** about not having the TPMS plugged in.
However, it was a soft reboot, wherein the hub didn't power off...but it's still progress! I don't thing having it plugged directly into the mainboard
would of even accomplished that...
Now if I can only get the line-in for the HDRadio working properly!!

Well I tried learning my sensors again using RRTMS 1.40. Had about 10psi on the tire, click the tire to learn, then filled it to about 45 psi and it would still be blinking.
Don't know if by doing the antenna swap made it more helpful. I'm wondering if maybe we can find a high gain good antenna, put it in a good spot and run a coax feed to the receiver.
Maybe something like this http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...3-MHW-RPS-S-ND
Well, I ordered one of these so I'm gonna see how it works out.

My success was short lived...
Went for a drive to get a coffee, and the temps/pressures didn't move from last night. So I rebooted the PC...same.
I unplugged and plugged in the TPMS...same
So I run RRTMS again to re-learn them, and they won't pick up!!
Somebody has to fix these issues! We all paid money to have these in our cars, and I don't know of many that aren't having any problems...

I finally got this thing working. What i realized is that if i unplug the receiver after every tire while its learning it works fine. But now i have 1 lazy sensor. I soldered a new antena and my receiver is on the rear deck and its picking up 3 tires except for the rear left one. I'm gonna try to change out that sensor and see if thats the problem.
