@ WunGun: Sorry that I was an arse earlier, I had a rare case of "PMS" - no excuse, so I hope you will accept my apology
Anyway, back to business - you could always solder that bad trace, by connecting a thin little wire to the next solder point on the PCB where that trace leads to.....would fix your problems. Our PCBs have a bad area where one via is particularly small, leading to a weak spot on the board - push to hard on one component, and it will lift, or, worse sever the trace.
Keep us posted.

Don't worry 'bout Mr.Bean...I was a bit of a prick me self!
I'll have to have a closer look...it looks like the trace leading to one of the SMD resistors? At the top of the board...
I actually reheated the solder joints all around...
The other solder joint...not the dual ground joint, but the other one? Is it s'pose to bridge the SMD like I see in the pic? Does that mean the SMD isn't needed there?
Mine is bridged, but it looks a little sloppy now...I wonder if I can remove the SMD altogether and resolder the pin?

I can try for a pic tonight...wifes out with the Canon.
But I'm referring to R9 on the receiver board where JP1 connects...
I initially soldered the pin across both ends of the SMD, as shown in the pic...
So I assume the SMD isn't required? 'Cause it looks like I lifted it when I reheated the solder joint.
I need to get a closer look, as it might only have solder contact on the inboard side of the SMD...

Hey,
You can remove that smd resistor, it's not needed, you're correct Replace the smd with a short length of wire, make sure your solder-connections are good - don't overheat the tracks, that will cause them to lift.
Let us know if you fix it, hope it works out for you!
Br,
MrBean

Here's the mess I'm in now...any wonder why it stopped working?
Here, you can see where I moved the top pin over to the SMD resistor because the trace lifted off the PCB...
And what's worse, the bridge over the SMD in the foreground...at least, it looked like it was s'pose to bridge the SMD!
I reheated it and dabbed it with solder, but there was tension on the pin, lifting upwards, and I think it basically pulled the SMD off the board and drowned it in solder
If it's a bridged connection, is it even really needed?
I'll de-solder that front pin, clean it up and try for a re-solder to the board...
This is where I initially had a problem with the software...I think it'll detect the device plugged in and 'OK', even if the receiver isn't even soldered to the board.
So I'll have to try and get a 'learn' to know if it's functioning...
I'll report back...

Second I know I am probably going to regret this but if you think your reciever is busted I will offer to look at it as long as you pay for all the shipping costs (some beers wouldn't hurt either ). What I can do is take your reciever board clear the data and all the learned sensors, I will then use some of my test sensors to see if they will learn with your board. I know the sensors that I have work because I have tested them so at that point you will be able to narrow down the cause of the issues. Also I am not going to bend over backward so I will only ship using UPS and you will be responsible for shipping both to and from me. If you want some help send me a PM. Oh and the kits are getting there, I think we should have them ready by Nov5th only problem is that I am going to SEMA so I won't be here to ship them out. I will try to get someone else to ship them for me but I am only going to SEMA until the 6th so you won't have to wait too long either way.
Great, I'm in no rush, just PM me when u get back and ready to send out the kits.
Thanks again

Robby.
What do you think about showing the alarms as text on the instrument cluster. Maybe even the beep that comes when temperature goes below 4 degrees could be generated by IBus message.

I can possibly just have a long wire hanging out similar to the wire Robby has pictured above but maybe something a bit more industrial/robust like the rigid antennas they use for routers and such might be a better option. Please provide links/pictures of any ideas...
Here's a lot of different 433 MHz antenna options: http://www.antennafactor.com/Products

He is aware his server is down.
