Speaking of which, my V1 kit stems are a little 'iffy' as well...I had one that spun the entire stem when trying to undo the cap! I was worried the sensor might pop off on the inside.
Also, filling the tires...some filler necks just can't reach properly, and the air leaks out around the stem. kinda weird...
I think the next time I have my tires off, I'm just going to use double sided tape and mount the sensors off the stems...just put them on a flat surface on the perimeter of the rims...
Then go back to normal, rubber stems...

I had/have this issue, two of my tyres are perfect but the other two just aren't long enough, so I now use little plastic extensions to pump the tyres up.
The other two also seem to lose pressure over 10 days although I have found one is screwed (ie I have a screw in the tyre)
Do the bits in the middle rotate to tighten?

hey guys,
sorry if this is answered in this thread already, if the answer is yes ill go back raed the whole thing.
Is it possible to use this system with the TMPS sensors already equipped in my tires from the factory or does the sensors in the tires need to be replaced with these ones in order for this to work?

This leaking valve issue is keeping me from getting Lok's TPMS kit for now.

Has anyone figured out why the valve stem issue is popping up now?
Did the valve stem design change recently?
Did anyone face this issue with the original 3rd eye kits?

I used to have a Smartire system before I changed to this system and they attached their sensors with straps like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Band-It-Scru-Sea...424206005r2208
So I kept with the same idea. I know not everyone will have enough of a flat spot inside their wheels to allow to position the sensors, but I did so I just strapped them to the rims...... no worries about the valve stems at all then, just used the original ones.
The supplied stems wouldn't have worked well on my rims either so that was another reason to find another solution.

Thanks for the info guys this will really help me out. I am going to call Iforged and get one of these on order. Maybe I can talk to my metal fabricator into designing a bracket that is specific to our sensor and won't require use of the valve stem at all. We can just connect the sensor directly to the bracket which will be fixed to the exisiting valve stem.
I have a question for you guys, I know it may sound stupid but I don't know too much about tires and how they are mounted, do all tube-less tires have removable valve stems? Basically I want to know if this bracket idea will work on all rims including factory rims.

OH wait, so you dont really need the valves? If not they sell other sensors that have a large metal band and you actually secure the sensor to the middle of the rim.

The main issue that I am having with the metal bands is that they don't give you any way of securing the sensor to the band as they are made for sensors that have loops for the band to go through. The bands that f1racr are using look more practical though, as it looks as if they give you two sets of bands, one to go around the RIM and the other to go around the sensor.

I hope the band goes around the wheel, as opposed to the tire, not much point having a pressure sensor on the outside

Maybe a holster can be created that holds the sensor to the band. A metal one maybe that can handle the gravity stress and not break over time.

Got my TPMS device today....yeah!!!
But now, RRTMS won't run. I have the latest version, but I get a mscomctl.ocx is missing error...
BTW, this is on Win7 RC1
Any ideas??
