Win A USB TPMS Kit!!
Hello Everyone,
I am pleased to announce my attendance at the mp3car August waterfront event. I will be awarding a USB TPMS V2 4 Sensor Kit at the event. The kit will not be part of the grand prize pack as it will have different criteria. We have not finalized the contest details yet but I will hint that USB peripherals have something to do with it. I hope to see many of you there!

Hello Everyone,
With the mp3car event only days away I want to go ahead and post the contest rules.
Mp3car has posted official rules here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/mp3c...rs-prizes.html
Your car must be entered into the mp3car contest for eligibility.
Portal Media will award a 4 sensor USB TPMS kit to the vehicle which has the most peripherals/devices connected a Car PC. For a perphieral/device to count it must follow the following conditions:
1. Must be connected to the Car PC via a communication port (USB, Serial, LPT, bluetooth, etc.) hubs are allowed but do not count.
2. Must be accessible/usable in driving conditions (ie with use of front end, touch screen application, voice recognition, etc)
3. Storage Devices do not count (USB Drive, External Hard Drives, etc.)
4. Duplicate Devices will only count once.
If there are any questionable devices Portal Media will decide its eligibility.
Just to give you an idea here are some examples of the devices that fall within the requirements.
Fusion Brain
HD Radio (w/ MJS Cable)
3G Data Card
The winner will be voted on the forums along side the other prize packs.
Good Luck!

Hello Sonicxtacy,
I had to depart a bit early but don't worry there is a still a kit being awarded. I didn't really get a chance to see how many usb devices were each entry vehicle so I am hoping the videos that mp3car took will help out on that. If we can't figure it out that way then we will probably just throw it in one of the prize packs... I didn't see anyone that was using an excessive number of devices (I was surprised that there wasn't even one car with the fusion brain installed!) but i guess it was kind of my fault for putting up the contest details pretty late.

i did have a fusion brain. Most of all of my stuff was installed so that you cant see it unless i'm showing it and i wasnt sure when you were going to start judging. the mp3car guys got a break down of all of my stuff on video so i spose that should help. i'm not sure what you would call excessive but here's my list. All of it was installed and working.. i just was waiting for you to start judging to show it off.
USB:
Verizon U720 Broadband card
Bluesoliel bluetooth dongle
Andrea Stereo Array mic for hands-free and RR voice command
Directed HD Radio with Mitch's cable
XMD100 with mp3car adapter
Mitch's UAS4 line selector
Spacenavigator
BU353 GPS
Microsoft VX6000 usb camera for skype and streaming
Slot Load DVD
UsbUirt for IR remote control
Touchscreen
Elm327 OBD-II
Fusion Brain
Fusion Brain Connected:
3 Relays to control Amp, DSP and Monitor power
2 Thermosensors, one that monitors cpu temps and one for cabin temperature
1 Photosensor that controls skin brightness
Bluetooth Connected:
Apple mini keyboard
Rockford Fosgate 3sixty
Blackberry phone for handsfree
I think the TPMS is the only thing i DONT have in the car

Holy cow....that's a lot of crap!
I knew about the photoelectric sensor for the skin-changing (very cool setp, I might add)...but I didn't know about some of that other stuff! Wicked!
I have factory TPMS and, while it can be a pain sometimes (like, when the batteries in the sensors start to fail) it's worth the headaches.

@ Sonicxtacy, which car was yours?? was is the RSX next to Lexus SC200? I had no idea you had a fusion brain, i was trying to find someone who did as I am pretty curious to see how the device works. I did get a chance to chat with the creator of the device but even he wasn't sure if anyone had one at the meet. If you were the one with the silver rsx I apologize as I didn't get time to thoroughly see your setup, now i definitely regret it. I guess I can take a look at the mp3car videos but I know seeing it in person would have been much better.
Also from the looks of it I don't think anyone that was out there can top that, there were some pretty sweet rides but the trend I saw with the more expensive rides was that they weren't really using the Car PC to its full potential, where as the Mazda, RSX and the Chevy may not have been the most expensive rides but they had some really sleek feature rich setups. I was pretty impressed with the integration of the Car PC into the SC200 as well but I did notice that the screen resolution wasn't the greatest as a composite converter had to be used for the connection.

It looks like mp3car is a bit busy sorting thru all the information they have gathered from the meet. I am going to wait a few days and see if the videos are up soon so I can use them judge the cars. If nothing surfaces before the 31st I will use the information I gathered myself at the meet along with what some of you have posted above and in the forums and use that to select a winner. Thanks for being patient!
