Has anyone used an M4 yet?
Just saw this as I was about to purchase an M2.
http://www.short-circuit.com/product/M4-ATX.html
Would this work to power an Intel D201GLY motherboard with a Celeron on it?

I think it would work well for that motherboard.
To be hinest, this is a new product to most of us.
If you purchase one, please tell the rest of us how good/bad it is.
Shoot write a full-on review for a our Product Reviews forum!

Man, I'd love to hear some feedback on this as well. Looks VERY nice. I like the "amp" style connections for the power, ground, and remote wires. Also 250w is impressive, especially for the price.
If it was in stock I'd most likely order it right now myself. As it is, I can't find it anywhere else. I'll be anxiously awaiting some feedback on this for sure.

The reason I ask is it says it will work for Core 2 Duo,... etc, but doesn't mention celeron. What's the differance? Should it be able to power a standard 24 pin connector celeron based mobo and also the 4x4 12v connector?
It caught my attention as well at $100 for 250 watts. Would that get too hot if the mobo was in the dash?

I'd have to say you'd be fine with it. If it will power a C2D, it should power any CPU that requires 20/24pin ATX power and comes with the 4pin connector as well.
The only thing I don't like about the Mx-ATX PSU's is the delay settings. However it seems the M4 has a programmable delay. That would come in VERY handy.

Nice, and cheaper than a DSATX.

That's a question for intel.
Actually, I believe the primary difference is the internal cache of the CPUs. Celerons have less.

Any PSU can do that, actually., Some may require a 20-24 pin adapter for the main ATX plug.

It could.
I don't know about this particular unit, though.

So can I pull the trigger and this will work with the mobo/celeron I have?

Damn, I just bought an M2, it's not even here yet. Wish I'd got this.
Oh well.

Just found out from mini-box.com's lead engineer that there are some "hidden" delay settings - maybe one of those will work for you (the option I want is in there). I posted the info here:

not necessarily...
the core-2-duo is a very efficient processor. just because the M4 will power a C2D does NOT mean it will power "any CPU that requires 20/24 pin ATX power".
while the C2D is the performance-king, it is NOT the power-consumption-king. the PSU may provide enough power for a C2D, but may not be enough for power-hungry CPUs like the P4.
