p2140 does not hibernate

i am having problems with my p2140..it doesnt put my computer into hibernate mode. i just installed it too. i have the firmware 1.8.3 along with the psumoni. before this..i had a p1900 and that thing ran perfect. when i put it into hibernate, it would actually hibernate. but when i put it under hibernate now..it goes to the hibernate screen, then when i come back to turn on my pc..it starts again from the beginning. and since my startup takes forever..it sucks! so any help? suggestions? thanks in advance!

You need to have the psunomi software running, it actually tells the OS to hibernate when the 2140 sends the ACPI signal to the computer's USB port.

This acts the same way an uninterruptable power supply works for a server.

If you are forcing hibernate and its not properly, well then I don't know.

Also make sure your bios is set properly, my Acer P1000 was a biotch to get right, and I still have cold weather problems, not the 2140's fault, but the internal PS on the P1000.

Hope that helps.

Yeah make sure the USB feature is disabled on the soft jumpers, cuz you are using the ACPI - power button.

What does the computer do when you manually hibernate it on the Start Menu?

No, you don't need the psunomi software running for the PSU to function correctly.

What the psunomi software is good for is configuring the P2140 to function the way you want. If it's going to the hibernate screen and not finishing maybe you need to extend the time for that function. If your hibernate is taking longer than 45 seconds to complete, then you're really having a problem with the OS and not the PSU.

thanks for all your help. ill try all those to make sure everythings functioning properly. on the 1.8.3, it has the option to do "laptop mode"...what is that exactly? is that like the same feature that the laptop has? like you dont need to click 'standby' or 'hibernate' to put it on hibernate..just close the laptop and it automatically hibernates?

Maybe I should clarify,

In my setup, the psunomi software needs to be running to automatically hibernate before the 2140 shuts down after I have turned off the ignition.
